Ning Yechen stood with his hands clasped behind his back as he followed two men, who claimed to be from the Thousand Demons Clan, into a mountain valley.
The two figures were completely shrouded in black cloaks, their faces and bodies entirely concealed, leaving no trace of their appearance.
Back at the Demon God Hall, they had claimed to represent the Thousand Demons Clan in congratulating him on his return to the Demon Realm. They said a grand feast had been prepared in the valley and invited him to join them personally.
The ploy to lure him away from Eternal Night Monarch City was laughably transparent. Yet Ning Yechen feigned ignorance and readily agreed without hesitation.
He knew full well whether they were truly from the Thousand Demons Clan and what their true intentions were.
He had only agreed to accompany them to see what tricks they had up their sleeves.
*Let's hope they don't bore me too much...*
As he stepped over a roadside stone tablet, Ning Yechen froze mid-air, his expression hardening slightly.
"My Lord Demon Lord, what's wrong...?"
Seeing Ning Yechen stop, the two figures exchanged a worried glance before asking in unison.
