Yuki Seisui's words struck a deep blow to Rasa's pride.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Pakura was barely holding on in her fight against Uchiha Haru and Minato. She was clearly struggling.
"Damn Konoha shinobi!" Pakura gritted her teeth as she stared at the much younger girl in front of her, bewildered by how recklessly and fiercely she attacked, as if she had no regard for her life.
Pakura had already lost the will to continue fighting. She had hoped to use the two "rookies" and the immobilized Might Duy as hostages to force a ceasefire. But what she didn't expect was,
The only unharmed rookie had escaped with the other two!
And now she was completely overwhelmed by these two opponents.
Especially that madwoman from the Uchiha clan!
If it weren't for her Scorch Release techniques keeping them at a distance, she'd probably already be dead.
She had hoped to hold out long enough for Rasa and Karura to finish off that kid and come help her. But now,
All she could see was a massive panda standing unscathed in a storm of gold sand and wind.
Even her final hopes crumbled.
They weren't a match. Not even close!
"Rasa, you useless piece of trash!" she cursed inwardly as she staggered backward under the pressure of both opponents' relentless attacks.
Karura glanced at the raging panda and her pupils shrank in fear. She shouted, "Pakura! Run!"
Without hesitation, she grabbed the chakra-drained Rasa and fled without looking back.
After running some distance, sand gathered beneath her feet and lifted her into the sky.
Panda Wu, finally free for once, had been looking forward to a fight, but when his enemies ran away, his rage exploded.
"I'LL SMASH THOSE BASTARDS TO PIECES WITH ONE PUNCH!!!"
With that, he charged after Karura.
Hearing Karura's cry, Pakura leapt back and turned to flee as well, not even daring to look behind her.
"Cowards!" Uchiha Haru growled and immediately gave chase.
Minato stayed where he was, looking at the tri-pronged kunai in his hand with a disappointed expression.
"I feel like I didn't help at all…"
But he quickly shook it off and clenched his fists.
"Once I learn the Flying Raijin… I'll catch up!"
"I swear I will!"
With renewed determination, Minato sprinted after them.
After they all disappeared into the distance, Yamaka Kazekaze supported the injured Might Duy and Nightfall as they slowly walked out from cover.
Staring at the devastated battlefield, Kazekaze swallowed hard, his legs trembling.
"These… these are supposed to be Genin?"
"Are our efforts even worth it?"
Doubt crept into his heart. But Might Duy, still bloodied, was full of emotion.
"This… this is youth!"
"With hard work, we can reach this level!"
"We're just not working hard enough! Waaahhh!"
Hearing this, his two teammates looked at each other, then all three broke down in tears, holding one another.
"Duy is right! We can reach that level too!"
Elsewhere, Karura flew rapidly through the air, Rasa in tow. But behind them, Panda Wu galloped on all fours with astonishing speed, keeping up effortlessly.
Yuki Seisui stood balanced on Wu's back, forming hand signs.
"Water Style: Water Bullet Barrage!"
In the next instant, he launched a flurry of water bullets at Karura and Rasa.
"Trying to escape?"
"Don't even dream of it!"
Yuki Seisui locked eyes on their fleeing figures. With his current chakra reserves, he could sustain a continuous barrage.
"I want to see just how long you can last."
Watching the water bullets blast out from above his head, Panda Wu grinned with satisfaction.
"That's the spirit!"
"Trying to run, are they?"
"Just came out, and already they're fleeing?"
"They're looking down on me!"
"Seisui, give them hell!"
Wu charged forward relentlessly, smashing through trees in the Forest of Death like a wrecking ball.
Karura glanced behind her, at the unstoppable panda, dread creeping into her heart. Her chakra was nearly gone. If this kept up, they'd die here.
"Scorch Release: Oversteam Kill!"
"Watch out!" Uchiha Haru's voice rang out. Yuki Seisui turned his head just in time,
Pakura had reappeared behind Wu. Several fireballs orbited her, and one was heading straight for him.
Wu rose up on his hind legs. The fireball exploded against him without effect. Yuki Seisui stood firmly on his back, perfectly upright.
"Another one?"
Wu grinned.
If he couldn't catch the ones ahead, he might as well wake this one up, with a good punch to the soul!
Pakura felt a chill run down her spine as Wu turned his gaze on her instead of continuing his pursuit.
She bolted without hesitation.
Wu started to go after her, but Seisui called out, "Wu! Don't bother."
"They're too fast!"
"Damn it!" Wu slammed a massive paw into the ground in frustration, the shockwave sending Uchiha Haru and Minato flying.
Seeing his rage, Yuki Seisui smiled.
"No rush. There'll be more fights to come."
"Let's go block the gate!"
Standing tall once more on Wu's head, Seisui grinned widely.
Uchiha Haru and Minato exchanged looks, then glanced at the enormous panda, and remembered how it had barreled through the storm of golden sand like a force of nature.
They silently mourned for anyone trying to get past him.
If Wu guarded the gate… no one was getting through.
Wu tilted his head at Seisui's words, then nodded. "Alright, I'll follow your lead."
"As long as I get to fight, I'm in."
Seisui's smile widened.
As expected of someone named Panda Wu, he really did love violence.
"Then let's head toward the central tower."
He glanced down at Haru and Minato, signaling for them to hop on too.
Standing upright, Wu stomped off toward the tower, the three of them riding on his head side by side.
Seisui looked at the two beside him and pulled out a thick stack of explosive tags from his pouch.
Originally, he had planned to set traps and blow up some of the Grass and Rain ninja with them.
But since he hadn't used them yet, they'd be perfect for blocking the gate.
He split the tags into three stacks, each with dozens of sheets.
Seriously, how reckless is Nawaki to carry this many explosives around?
Seisui thought silently.
To repay Nawaki for this generous gift, he decided he'd blow him up with his own tags at least three times over the next few years.
A fair trade, really.
"These tags…" Minato looked at the stack in his hand, puzzled.
"We're going to block the central tower entrance," Seisui said confidently. "Since we're guarding it, we need as many traps as possible. Make it so no one can get through."
"Otherwise, they'll just waltz right in."
Haru and Minato stared at the tags in silence.
"Hmph. Duy-senpai's seriously injured, and Rasa just ran out of chakra?!"
"What a disgrace!"
"My pride can't take this!"
Seisui slapped his own face, looking genuinely humiliated.
"Wasn't that due to the Eight Gates backlash?" Minato asked cautiously.
"I don't care!" Seisui waved it off. "Unless Suna pays me a few million ryo, I'm not letting this slide!"
"Not a single Suna-nin is getting through!"
