Chapter 253 - Chapter 252: Industrial Cthulhu

"Hakimi, fire up the Hex Solar Furnace. Start dispersing the HN Particles!"

The command was given.

With a soft hum, the Hex Solar Furnace, which had been prepped and waiting, instantly flared to life. Brilliant blue particles rapidly expanded, enveloping the entire base in the blink of an eye.

Though these "HN Particles" were essentially a knockoff of "GN Particles," Luca hadn't yet been able to verify if they possessed the rather fantastical ability of the original—facilitating "mutual understanding between people." In every other respect, however, they were basically identical.

Currently, the only reason Luca had specifically brought over the solar furnace—intended for synthesizing the [Hex T-Rex]—was for the wide-range jamming and cloaking capabilities of the HN Particles.

After all, his next move was going to be a bit... conspicuous.

"Hmm, but just blocking communications doesn't feel safe enough. Might as well..."

Luca clenched his fist slightly.

His body immediately began to swell, transforming in the blink of an eye into a pink dragon nearly thirty feet long.

Still not quite used to this dragon form, but if I want to manipulate the weather, this shape is definitely more suitable~

With a mere thought, and without any visible movement from Luca, massive dark clouds began to gather over the entire Aurantius Industries complex.

However, these sudden, converging storm clouds didn't bring lightning or thunder, nor did they unleash a torrential downpour.

Instead, they rapidly descended to the ground, dispersing and thinning out to become a thick, heavy fog that blanketed the entire industrial zone.

At this moment, the Aurantius Industries employees who had just left on the buses were all pressed against the windows, staring back at the sudden shift in weather with expressions of inexplicable horror.

Is the company testing some kind of weather control weapon?!

This thought flashed through more than one person's mind.

Meanwhile, back in the pitch-black fog where you couldn't even see your hand in front of your face...

Luca, the mastermind behind it all, had already reverted to his human form. But he wasn't particularly thrilled with the result.

Is this really the best I can do?

Looking at the pervasive fog around him, Luca curled his lip in dissatisfaction.

Actually, he had intended to gather some nearby white clouds and simply "slam" them onto the ground to create a mystical, ethereal atmosphere just for kicks.

He hadn't expected the white clouds to turn into dark storm clouds, and then, due to his lack of control, half of them just dissipated into fog upon hitting the ground.

So now, instead of a heavenly scene, he had a mass of dark clouds hovering overhead and a gloomy, lingering fog on the ground. Combined with the deserted industrial park, it looked like a complete ghost town.

I clearly remember in the source material, Kaido could change the weather and lift entire islands with Flame Clouds. Why is it that when I do it...

I guess my Devil Fruit development still isn't there yet! Whatever, this will do for now~

Since the prep work was done, Luca didn't dwell on it.

Alone in the near-blinding fog, he began the tedious task of drawing a circle around the central buildings...

"Okay, this is the Cloning Lab, add a circle here... this is the Machine Tool Assembly Line... alright, the placement is pretty accurate..."

Muttering to himself, Luca gradually completed the largest transmutation circle he had ever drawn beneath his feet.

That's right. The reason for all this elaborate setup was simply to lightly mask his Golden Finger synthesis ability.

Because he was synthesizing a [Yuri Construction Yard], he had consciously placed the "synthesis materials"—buildings like the 'Signal Tower,' 'Cloning Lab,' and 'Folding Base'—in the same area during the initial planning of this park.

But even so, the required transmutation circle was massive, and Luca naturally didn't plan on performing a "mystical sacrifice ritual" in front of an audience.

Sigh, this is just for a Construction Yard... later there's a Space Fortress... Sokovia doesn't even have a big lake...

While his mind wandered with random thoughts, he finished the final stroke of the circle beneath his feet.

Compared to before, the concentric circle at the core of this array was ridiculously small.

Because what needed to be placed there was the Mind Scepter, which had been gathering dust in Luca's possession for quite some time!

With a heavy thud, he drove the scepter straight into the ground.

Luca then jogged a few steps to the edge of the array, crouched down, and pressed both hands against the earth.

He silently commanded in his mind:

Synthesize!

The next instant, a white light flashed through the thick fog.

Immediately after, likely due to the disappearance of large objects and the sudden appearance of something else, the entire mist began to churn violently.

Once the fog rushed back in to fill the void and settled down...

In front of Luca...

Well, okay, the fog was so thick he couldn't actually see the finished product clearly at first.

He could only make out vague, massive shadows.

It wasn't until Luca walked back to the center of the original array and observed it up close that he felt the shock of the behemoth before him.

This massive [Yuri Construction Yard], brimming with heavy Soviet industrial metal style, was over a hundred feet tall and wide, and more than a hundred and sixty feet long.

If it were a building, that might not be much. But as a vehicle, its size was truly terrifying.

Exposed thick pipes, heavy armor plating, and heat exhaust vents mimicking steam engines all highlighted the heavy aesthetic unique to "Industrial Cthulhu."

Just the gigantic treads, standing at nearly fifteen feet high, were enough to inspire awe.

"G-good thing I left enough open space..."

"But... how am I supposed to start a vehicle this big?"

Although there were multiple maintenance ladders on the behemoth's exterior armor, Luca felt that even if he climbed up, he might not be able to start this metal monster alone.

However, just as that thought crossed his mind, the giant machine before him suddenly began to emit loud clank-clank noises.

It sounded like massive metal gears turning, or perhaps steam power roaring.

At a mere thought from Luca, the [Yuri Construction Yard] began to rapidly extend and transform.

As the metallic roaring finally ceased a few moments later, the massive Construction Yard had fully deployed on the ground, transforming into a true metallic base.

At the very front of the base, the first thing that caught the eye was a super-heavy industrial robotic arm. The platform beneath it connected to a heavy metal door that was easily seventy or eighty feet high.

Rough, antenna-like devices stood erect at various points across the base.

"Okay then... It is Yuri technology after all. Mind control and stuff... I guess that's not too hard to accept... like hell it isn't!"

Okay, Luca took back what he said earlier about the size being normal for a building.

Just looking at this massive metal platform and the super-sized workshop, it was more than enough to serve as a manufacturing base for Gundams.
