The mass slaughter of fodder demons while the Hextech elite forces suffered minimal casualties.
This kind of one-sided attrition was clearly not what the Hell side wanted to see.
Just as their battle line had been pushed back over halfway, Hell finally made a change.
However, this time, the unit Hell deployed to the battlefield wasn't a higher-tier elite unit superior to the fodder imps.
Instead, it was arguably the lowest creature in Hell—Hell Locusts!
The moment the first buzzing of locust wings sounded on the Dimensional Battlefield, a swarm of locusts flooded in from the boundary, blotting out the sky.
Endless locusts roared past. In the blink of an eye, like a dark cloud covering the sun, they shrouded a small portion of the Dimensional Battlefield.
Why call this creature the lowest of the low in Hell?
Because the energy contained within a single Hell Locust was pitifully low.
If an imp's attack could barely scratch a Brute's skin, then the gap between a Hell Locust and an imp was even wider.
However, all of this assumed a single individual.
When Hell Locusts swarmed, blotting out the sky, even pure steel constructs couldn't hold out for long under their relentless, endless assault.
But that wasn't the only reason Hell chose to dump massive quantities of Hell Locusts onto the Dimensional Battlefield!
Seeing countless locusts rushing towards them, devouring even some of their own fodder demons along the way...
Mitsuki, realizing what was about to happen, naturally wouldn't sit idly by.
He kicked two demons trying to engage him into paste, then took a running start, using Bucky as a stepping stone to leap into the air.
The next moment, the Pandora's Box casually carried on his back suddenly disassembled and began to transform.
In the blink of an eye, the pitch-black box reassembled into six thick, strange-looking thrusters resembling spider legs, pointing aggressively forward.
"Pandora: Fire Style Expansion Mode," deployed instantly.
Simultaneously, Mitsuki, mid-leap, completed his hand seals.
Taking a deep breath, his chest expanded slightly, gathering power.
Then...
"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"
A surging, scorching fire dragon spewed from Mitsuki's mouth, roaring ferociously towards the swarming insects.
However, Mitsuki switching Pandora to "Fire Style Mode" wasn't just for show. The moment he breathed fire, the six dark, thick thrusters on his back simultaneously replicated the jutsu he released.
Six identical fire dragons followed suit, spreading out rapidly with the initial dragon at the center, expanding the attack range.
Seven ferocious fire dragons wound their way forward. Wherever they passed, large swathes of locusts were turned to ash by the heatwave.
However, Mitsuki, who had single-handedly intercepted the massive swarm, frowned slightly.
Why? Just like when Bucky used energy missiles to clear fodder demons earlier, using such large-scale attacks to destroy Hell Locusts was incredibly inefficient.
Although Mitsuki couldn't accurately judge the energy contained in each locust, he knew clearly that most of the damage from his fire dragons was dissipating into thin air.
Even though he chose the "Dragon Flame Jutsu"—a controllable, sustained attack—rather than the single-burst "Fireball Jutsu," against the near-infinite Hell Locusts in the air, it still felt like using a cannon to hit mosquitoes.
However, the reality was...
If he didn't intercept them, it would be even harder for the other Hextech units to stop this dense swarm.
Ordinary artillery or laser attacks would be equally wasteful, and it was hard to say how much damage they could actually inflict or how many locusts they could stop.
Blindly trying to save resources might end up causing greater casualties for his own side.
Mitsuki couldn't possibly expect Brutes to punch locusts out of the air, right?
One could only say that Hell, having experienced countless dimensional wars, had its own "ingenuity" regarding the logic of "equal energy exchange."
In some dimensional worlds with singular species that were easily countered, Hell Locusts alone could be enough to devour the enemy completely.
However, just as Mitsuki was doing his best to maintain the fire dragon interception and kill as many locusts as possible, the support dispatched by Dunshan finally arrived.
First on the scene were the Razor Drones previously slaughtering aerial demons.
Before this, these drones were mainly dealing with flying demons attempting to approach the main base from the air.
Designed by Luca specifically for the Dimensional Battlefield and resembling miniature Dark Elf Razor Ships, these drones possessed extremely high speed and sharp, sturdy bodies.
From the start of the battle, under Skynet's calculations, they had established a tight kill net in the airspace.
Any demon attempting to pass through was sliced to shreds by the swarming Razor Drones.
However, this attack form was clearly unsuitable against the dense locust swarm.
In fact, these drones were currently mostly performing escort duties. The ones who were truly going to make a difference were the strange, spherical aircraft with multi-barrel turrets flying behind the Razor Drones.
"Mitsuki, let them handle it!"
Dunshan's voice rang in his earpiece. Mitsuki didn't hesitate and quickly maneuvered the seven fire dragons to spread out.
The next moment.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
A series of explosions echoed across the battlefield.
The fire dragons, which had relied on sustained burning, were detonated instantly, turning into seven massive balls of scorching red fire.
Not just the flames and shockwaves from the explosion, but even the radiating heatwave cleared a large area of Hell Locusts.
Seeing his mission accomplished, Mitsuki, still in mid-air, immediately manipulated the Pandora armament on his back.
The four lower thrusters wrapped around his hands and feet, while the top two thrusters synchronized to point downwards.
The original six-tube Fire Style amplifier transformed directly into a semi-armored jet pack.
All six flame thrusters fired simultaneously, instantly carrying Mitsuki rapidly backward, away from the swarm's impact.
Passing him by was the flying unit Dunshan had dispatched.
