Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Shut up and take my money!

Alex Pov:

In no time at all I was already on the airship to Beacon.

It was hard to imagine sometimes. Just under two months ago I was nearly killed by a Beowolf.

Hell, I used to be fat. Now look at me. From 5' 10" and 430 pounds to, well still 5' 10", but now I'm only 200 pounds.

I weigh practically nothing!

Then again I spent almost two months doing nothing but physical exercise and fighting. So it's to be expected.

Actually now that I think about it. That was way too much for a body to handle. How am I not a complete reck?

My thoughts were cut off as a display of Roman's mug shot shown on the windows.

A police report on his wanted status. I didn't catch the end of that as I spotted the guy next to me start to get motion sick.

Lucky him, I was worried I'd be the same so I came prepared.

I tapped his shoulder as his eyes started to spin. "Hey man, I'm Alex. Let's get you seated real quick. Here take this, just incase."

I handed the blond kid a small plastic waste bag for this kind of thing. I then helped him over to a bench.

He then promptly threw up in the bag. I helped him onto the bench as I rubbed his back. "Focus on something not moving. Like the horizon or a table. Just stare at it."

I pulled out a small peppermint candy as I handed it to him. "Suck on this man. It'll help." Seeing he was doing a little better already I got up to get him some water.

As I was walking back with a plastic cup of water, I caught a splash of familiar red. Stopping for a moment as we met eyes.

I gave her a quick smile and a wave, I then went back to the blond guy threatening to puke again.

I heard a startled yelp of Red as I ignored it for my impromptu patient.

Sitting next to him I handed him the cup. "Here, sip slowly. Down it and you'll just puke it up again."

The guy nodded quickly, immediately regretting it as he puked into the bag again.

I shook my head with a wry smile. "Yeah try to keep your head still too. Motion sickness is mostly just the disconnect between your vision and sense of balance. Mainly governed by your ears. So keep your head still and eyes fixed on something not moving."

I offered with a chuckle. "How- how do you know all this?" He managed to get out between breaths.

I just shrugged. "Read it somewhere. So hopefully it's helping."

The blond had to stop himself mid head turn as he just sighed out. "Yeah, it is."

I nodded to myself as I have successfully accomplished my one good deed for the day as I went to stand up.

"Wait, I'm Jaune. Jaune Arc, and thanks. For the help." I turned and gave him a smile with a thumbs up.

"Yeah, no problem man. Stay safe, and don't die." I offered cheerfully as the airship started to dock.

"Looks like we're here. See you around." I finally added as I went with the crowd to get off.

Stepping off the ramp I looked up at the academy. This is where I'll be for the foreseeable future. Hope I don't have to break anyone's legs.

My mind drifted back to my old school days where I got bullied regularly. My blood started to boil at the memories. Yeah it wouldn't end well for bullies here.

My thoughts were torn away by a loud dust explosion. Looking over I noticed the usual culprit.

Why do dust explosions seem to follow her everywhere we go?

I thought with a smirk as I walked over to see what was going on.

"-you complete dolt. What are you even going here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?" The white princess type was seething as I walked up behind her.

I saw a girl in black approaching and I decided to see where this was going.

Red was mumbling something in protest as White just steamed over her.

"This isn't your ordinary combat school. It's not just sparring and practice you know. We're here to fight monsters, so watch where you're going!" White huffed in indignation.

I had to fight a laugh as Red finally fired back. "Hey, I said I was sorry princess!" She bit back.

Then the girl in black stepped in. "It's heiress actually. Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee dust company. One of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."

Yeah, I'm still just going to call her White. I thought as Weiss turned, hands on her hips. "Finally some recognition." She huffed at Red.

Black continued. "The same company infamous for it's controversial labor forces and questionable business partners."

White sputtered as she tried to rebuke Black. I couldn't help laughing as Red snickered.

White looked at me furious before grabbing a bottle of red dust from Black and storming off.

Red called after her. "I promise I'll make this up to you." I watched as Black was already walking off.

Red turned to her too, only to stop as Black was already out of the socially acceptable range to start a conversation.

Red sighed as she finally looked to me. I smiled as I waved to her for the third time. Now it was just a running joke to me.

She smiled back. "Uh hi. You were that guy with the weird wall right?"

I snorted as I laughed. "Yeah, I'm-"

My introduction was cut off as Jaune called to me. "Hey Alex! Thanks again for earlier. Oh, am I interrupting?" He asked finally realizing I wasn't alone.

I smiled warmly as I finished. "Well as Jaune has so helpfully provided. I'm Alex." I then turned to Jaune. "Glad to see you breathing outside of a plastic bag. You feeling better?"

Red just kind of watched the humorous interaction as I verbally jabbed back at Jaune.

He smiled awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Uh yeah, thanks again. Haha..."

I nodded, letting him off the hook for now. I then turned back to Red with a teasing smile. The inner gremlin in me now fully awake.

"So Red, you like blowing things up every where you go?"

She looked momentarily mortified as she stammered, looking between my mischievous smirk and Jaune's clueless blink.

----

I laughed as we finished our three way introduction. "So, now that we are acquainted what now? I'm not really a people person."

I offered as we walked around the campus. Red chimed in as she unfurled her scythe. "I have this! What about you two?"

Jaune jumped as he looked at the scythe in surprise. "Whoa, is that a scyth?"

Red cut in happily. "It's also a high impact customizable sniper rifle."

I chuckled as I returned. "As opposed to a low impact stock rifle?"

Red snorted at my joke as Jaune looked completely lost. "What?" He questioned. Both of us or the gods, I couldn't tell.

Red got control first as she replied. "It's also a gun." Jaune nodded and I already knew it all went over his head.

Red then prompted Jaune for his weapon as I looked at Red's scythe jealously.

Man why couldn't I get a mecha-shift weapon? The things I would do to get a Bloodborne trick weapon.

I tuned out the two as they examined Jaune's sword and folding shield.

My mind drifted between my favorite trick weapons as I remembered dancing by spamming the burial blade's transformation.

Then it happened. My aura suddenly tanked by fourty percent as a weight hung off my back. A long, familiar, jagged curved blade materialized in my right hand.

My eyes shot wide. My inner child exploding in joy as I, on reflex, slammed the handle behind me with a click. I reached behind my back on the other side. My hand wrapping around a handle with a trigger as I squeezed. Pulling the whole thing out from behind me.

In all it's scythe like glory. A true, real fucking burial blade. I nearly died. Then just as it came it dissolved. My aura was totally drained.

I couldn't care less. That was a game item. The game item. I couldn't breathe.

Red and Jaune looked at me with concern as my mind raced.

What else could I summon?
