Heena met his gaze with a sharp, warning frown.
"You guys really have so much time? Instead of focusing on work, your minds are running somewhere else..."
Hearing that, they stiffened and continued their reports, their voices tight with repressed suspicion .
After twenty minutes, Heena looked down at Larus. His eyes had become completely hazy, his movements sluggish and desperate. An evil idea suddenly formed in her mind.
Thud.
The office fell into sudden silence as she knocked a heavy pen off the desk. It rolled right toward the corner. Larus froze under the table, his breath hitching. Heena's smile grew as she looked at Raphael.
"Oh my, sorry about that... can you pick up the pen for me, Raphael?"
Underneath, Larus's face turned even paler. He shook his head frantically and pulled at Heena's leg, his fingers digging into her skin in a silent plea.
