Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Reflection and Recovery

Chapter 36: Reflection and Recovery

Hidden Rain Village

Back in the village, on the first day after Kenzo recovered somewhat, he used a simple genjutsu on the old man and got all the information from him.

The reason for saving him was simple. Human trafficking.

The old man had done this many times before.

People who were lost or in a vulnerable condition were sold in exchange for supplies.

Enough to keep the village running for a while.

Still lying on the bed, Kenzo shook his head slightly. He already expected something like this.

When people face constant hunger, they don't really have choices.

They just do what they need to survive.

Compared to what he had seen in his previous life—people willing to do anything to survive—this was nothing worth mentioning.

So he didn't dwell on it.

Instead, he closed his eyes and silently began recalling his past battles, trying to digest all the gains he had obtained.

The first fight was against the initial Root squad.

Three elite chūnin and one jōnin.

Their plan was simple—surround him and suppress him with coordinated attacks.

However, their coordination wasn't completely perfect.

Using his Sharingan, Kenzo was able to notice small inconsistencies in their movements. He waited for the right moment, used his eyes, and killed one of them instantly, breaking their formation.

After that, the rest were dealt with quickly.

From this fight, he understood the difference between the mind and the soul.

In essence, this was only been a probing strike.

The second wave was different. Root adjusted their approach.

They maintained distance and applied layered pressure, trying to exhaust him over time.

It was a better strategy, but still not enough.

Kenzo suppressed his chakra presence and controlled his movements carefully. At the same time, he used his killing intent in a more refined way.

This was something he had noticed earlier at the bandit hideout. His killing intent was far heavier than that of ordinary shinobi, despite him not killing much.

There were many possible reasons, but the main one was likely the system—though he didn't understand "why" yet.

So instead of releasing it all at once, he used it in short bursts to disrupt their focus.

Even experienced shinobi were affected for brief moments.

And those moments were enough.

He used those openings to break their rhythm and took them down one by one.

Of course, the genjutsu trick he copied from Itachi Uchiha also played a significant role.

From this fight, he understood how effective controlled killing intent and the Sharingan could be in actual combat.

And finally, the last wave was led by Torune Aburame and Fū Yamanaka.

This time, the situation was far more dangerous then before.

Two elite jōnin were after him.

Kenzo did not confront them directly.

Instead, he used positioning and terrain to separate them. Once they were split, he targeted Torune first—because of his tracking abilities and because he was the leader.

No matter which world—

killing the leader was one of the most effective strategies.

To delay and escape.

So he used a simple approach:

Delay.

Separate.

Isolation.

Kill.

Using his basic sealing knowledge from the previous owners memory's and combined with his Gods eye perspective, he created a simple chakra-suppressing setup to slow down Torune's insects.

But unfortunately,

As Madara Uchiha once said—

"Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world."

In the end, he had to sacrifice one of his arms to finally kill Torune.

After that, he faced Fū.

And ultimately killed him as well.

But by then, his body was already heavily injured.

Even after receiving physical enhancement from the system, it was not enough to fully compensate for the damage he had taken.

This fight pushed him to his absolute limit.

From it, he realized something important.

Even if he was a perpetual killing machine, his body was not.

He could still be killed through accumulated injuries like any other shinobi.

Even if his stamina could be restored by killing, his body had limits of its own.

After reviewing all his battles and digesting the gains, Kenzo finally called out the system in his mind.

Ding!!

A blood-red panel instantly materialized in front of him.

Name: Uchiha Kenzo

Age: 16

Uchiha Clan Bloodline: Refined (36.32%)

Kekkei Genkai: Three Tomoe Sharingan

Path of Killing: Beginner (9.99%)

Overall Evaluation: Elite Jōnin

He ignored most of the information and focused on one thing.

The path of killing.

After looking at the number, his expression remained calm.

It was clear he had reached some kind of bottleneck.

For this tier.

Until he broke through it, there would be no real progress. And that would take time.

After his escape, the tension between the village and the Uchiha clan would only increase.

The timeline itself might begin to shift.

For Kenzo, that mattered a lot.

His bloodline needed to advance.

Without killing the Uchiha himself, how could it advance?

He had only one opportunity.

If he missed it—

his bloodline might be stuck for a very long time.

After all, the Uchiha would practically be extinct after the massacre.

Even if he killed Itachi Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha,

his bloodline might not increase much.

Of course, there were other methods.

But all of them would take far more time.

For now, however,

he needed more information.

About his current predicament.
