Chapter 58 - Chapter 58

Mizukage's Office

Inside the Mizukage's office, Terumi Mei sat behind the desk, a bamboo hat symbolizing her position resting lightly on her head.

Documents were piled high in front of her—layer after layer, enough to give anyone a headache.

After all, she had only just taken office.

Kirigakure was still in chaos, and there were countless matters waiting for her decision.

When Namikaze Kirito walked in, Mei slowly removed the bamboo hat and leaned back into her chair.

Her posture relaxed.

The curves of her figure were no longer concealed.

"Lord Kirito… you're back already."

Her voice returned to its familiar lazy, alluring tone—soft, teasing, and full of temptation.

Kirito didn't react to it at all.

He walked straight up to her desk, sat down opposite her, and casually placed his legs up on the table.

"What business does the Fifth Mizukage have with someone insignificant like me?"

"Hehe~"

Mei chuckled lightly. "You're not insignificant at all."

"You're the great hero who saved our Kirigakure."

"Oh?"

Kirito raised an eyebrow with mild interest.

"If I'm a hero… then what's the reward?"

Mei didn't answer immediately.

Instead, she stood up, walked around the desk, and stopped behind him.

Her delicate hands rested on his shoulders, gently kneading them.

"I wonder…" she whispered softly,

"Would a hero be satisfied with this kind of reward?"

Kirito snorted.

"You think rubbing my shoulders a few times counts as payment?"

"T-Then…"

Mei leaned down closer, her cheek brushing against his ear.

A faint, intoxicating fragrance surrounded him.

Her red lips parted slightly as she whispered—

"What kind of reward would satisfy you?"

Kirito suddenly turned his head.

The distance between them vanished in an instant—their faces nearly touching.

Mei was startled and instinctively took a half step back, annoyance flashing across her face.

But it vanished just as quickly.

She leaned in again, her expression once more seductive and composed.

At this distance, they could feel each other's breath.

"Isn't it better this way?" she murmured.

"A man like you… marrying me."

Her lips curved.

"Does the title of Mizukage excite you?"

Crash—!

Documents scattered across the floor.

Kirito had already pulled her into his arms.

Their bodies pressed together through thin layers of clothing, warmth unmistakable.

Mei stiffened for a brief moment—

Then relaxed, her body sinking against him like a soft cushion.

"You're quite forceful," she whispered near his ear, warm breath brushing his skin.

"Aren't you afraid of scaring me away?"

Kirito laughed loudly.

"Hahaha—if the Fifth Mizukage is willing to give up her Lava Release and Boil Release, then maybe we can talk."

With that, he suddenly released her.

Mei flipped backward smoothly in midair and landed lightly on her feet.

A trace of yellow magma seeped from the corner of her lips, which she wiped away with her fingers.

"A man who's too clever…"

She smiled faintly.

"…is really unpleasant~"

This time, there was no seduction in her eyes.

Only cold planning.

For a fleeting moment, she genuinely considered killing Namikaze Kirito here and now.

Eliminate a future threat.

Secure Kirigakure's safety.

But—

"Is that so?"

Kirito replied calmly.

"I like smart women. But pretending to be one isn't very smart."

Black smoke suddenly erupted from his right hand.

"Dark Vortex."

A pitch-black spiral formed instantly.

At such close range, with no time to react—

Mei's body was dragged forward uncontrollably.

Her figure slammed into Kirito's grasp, darkness wrapping around her completely.

"T-This… what kind of ability is this?!"

She had thought she understood his power after yesterday's battle.

But this—

This darkness had never appeared.

Her chakra spiraled out of control.

Even her Kekkei Genkai—Lava Release and Boil Release—felt completely sealed, as if they no longer existed.

Her blood… her cells… everything resisted him, yet obeyed.

Kirito stood up, looming over her.

"The power you rely on. The Kekkei Genkai you're proud of."

"In front of me, they're nothing."

"I thought you were smart," he said coldly.

"But you still chose to test me."

"Do you want Kirigakure to return to the Blood Mist era?"

"I was only testing you," Mei said calmly despite the pressure.

"Only the strong deserve loyalty… isn't that how the world works?"

Kirito stared at her silently.

Seconds passed.

Each one felt like torture.

Finally—

He smiled.

"That logic…"

"…isn't wrong."

Mei barely managed to relax—

"But—"

Her heart clenched again.

If this power were unleashed inside Kirigakure, the village would be finished.

"Please listen— I think I— mm?!"

Her eyes widened.

Before she could react—

He kissed her.

Her mind went completely blank.

Her first kiss—protected for so many years—was taken just like that.

She tried to resist, but her body wouldn't move.

The darkness pinned her in place.

And before she realized it—

She responded.

Time lost meaning.

When Kirito finally pulled back, the darkness dispersed.

Mei collapsed weakly onto the floor, breathing heavily.

Kirito looked down at her swollen, flushed lips and smiled.

"That was good."

"The softness, the warmth… the taste."

"All quite satisfying."

"But if that's all you're offering—"

"…it's still not enough."

Before she could say anything, he turned and left.

The door closed softly.

Mei stared at it, her emotions tangled.

Did I lose my first kiss… and gamble the village's safety… all in one day?

She failed to uncover anything.

And gave up something she had guarded for years.

"What a bastard… where are you even running off to?"

She muttered under her breath, irritation bubbling up.

"Why did you make it look like I was some kind of plague?"

For a moment, even Terumi Mei herself didn't understand what she was feeling.

Was she angry at his sheer presumptuousness?

Annoyed at herself for failing to extract anything useful?

Or irritated by his irresponsibility—leaving so decisively after doing whatever he pleased?

The emotions tangled together, impossible to separate.

Even she couldn't tell anymore.

And neither could he.

Kirigakure's matter was settled—for now.

It was time to return and prepare for Konoha's Collapse Plan.

Kirito returned to the hotel, called Kimimaro, and the two boarded a ship—

Heading back toward Gensokyo.
