Chapter 1 - CEO × Movie King X little celebraty (1)

The system was transferring the soul.

Please adjust yourself mentally...

"Host, are you there? Host! Host..."

"I am in... Wait for me, the pain is subduing."

Sitting in a car, a girl with peach-blossom eyes—sharp like the wilderness—slowly opened her eyes. A worsening headache brought a wave of sharp pain. The system watched but could not help due to the rules. It knew exactly why its host's soul was injured, so it could only offer silent companionship.

Tentatively, the system asked again, "Host, are you there?"

"Hmm. I am transferring the data of this world," Yu Lan replied.

Before she could finish, a loud crack echoed. The car suddenly overturned.

Oh no, Host! The system instantly activated its protection protocol, managing to save her head from impact. The driver, however, was not as lucky; his head was injured, and he fainted on the spot.

"What happened?" Yu Lan asked.

"There was an accident involving a bus and a car."

Yu Lan quickly got out of the car and saw a bus plunging off the road into the river. Driven by instinct rather than conscious thought, she ran forward to save the passengers. She tried to hold the bus back, but this weak body lacked the necessary strength.

Left with no choice, she activated her divine power. The skin on her back and shoulder lit up as a vivid tattoo of a phoenix and a dragon came alive. Because her fragile body could barely handle the immense divine power, the strain exhausted her completely, but she finally managed to pull the bus from the river back onto the road.

"Host... Host, do you need a pill?"

Before she could answer, darkness overtook her. Just before fainting, she vaguely noticed someone holding her.

Huo Yun and Bo Li looked at the girl who had fainted in their arms with expressions of pure disbelief. They had been sitting in their own car when they saw the entire sequence of events unfold. Furthermore, the dragon and phoenix tattoos on their own arms had suddenly lit up today, as if declaring the return of someone important.

As a crowd gathered, shouting, "Quick, quick, there's an accident! Save the people! Call the medical center!" the two men were snapped back to reality. They quickly noticed each other—and their matching, glowing tattoos.

Later, in a hospital bed, Yu Lan slowly woke up to the frantic noise of the system.

"Host! Host... you're finally awake!"

Looking up at the unfamiliar ceiling of what appeared to be a hospital room, she slowly sat up.

"You're awake?"

Yu Lan looked to her right. A man sat there, holding a tablet in his hand. He possessed alluring, curved phoenix eyes that looked as though they could capitulate the entire world. His nose had a sharp, perfect bridge, and his lips were a vibrant cherry red. He was so incredibly captivating that Yu Lan's first thought was: I want to take him home. Take him home? What on earth am I thinking... She shook her head to clear her thoughts.

The man noticed the girl admiring his face. It was a look of pure, simple admiration without any conflicting emotions. Interesting... he thought.

Yu Lan looked away and turned her attention to the door as it opened. A tall man with sharp eyes and an imposing, regal aura entered. He carried a dominant, dragon-like presence that made people want to submit completely.

Yu Lan marveled at their sheer handsomeness. From the original soul's memories, she recognized these two men. One was Bo Li, the CEO of a billionaire conglomerate, and the other was Huo Yun, a movie king who dominated the entertainment industry.

"Are the people in this world always this beautiful?" she asked the system internally.

The system was surprised. Its host rarely complimented anyone, yet she seemed to take a liking to these two. Running a data search, the system quietly confirmed: These two are massive big shots. Meanwhile, the two men quietly observed her, reviewing the information they had gathered on her. This girl was merely an 18th-tier actress plagued by family issues.

Extreme fatigue washed over Yu Lan, making her want to sleep again. As her eyelids grew heavy, she instructed, "Little one, transfer this body's data."

This body shared her name, Yu Lan. While her situation wasn't as exaggeratedly dramatic as some low-tier artists, it was arguably worse than being completely unknown. She was an undeniable beauty, a looker who easily had the potential to thrive in the entertainment industry. However, she had fallen in love with the wrong person: the national male god, Gu Shi.

The original Yu Lan was beautiful but possessed a weak, fragile personality. She had only debuted as a star because her grandmother was seriously ill and desperately needed money. By chance, she met Gu Shi, who initially liked her. However, as the gap between their social statuses widened, Gu Shi grew weary of her weak character and proposed a breakup.

Unable to accept it, the original owner had hugged him, begging him not to leave, but he ruthlessly pushed her away. Had this happened in private, it might have been fine, but a paparazzi agent had staked out the location, snapped photos, and posted them online, shocking the entire network.

Gu Shi's agency flatly denied the relationship. As a result, public opinion unanimously accused Yu Lan of being shameless and unilaterally entangling herself with him. Slandering someone online had never been easier.

Following the incident, a barrage of negative, completely fabricated rumors flooded the internet. The online masses didn't care about verifying the truth; they simply followed the trend to hurl insults. To make matters worse, at a movie wrap party, the original owner was drugged and assaulted by an investor who had long coveted her beauty. A video of the incident was leaked online, "confirming" the malicious rumors in the eyes of the public.

There was no coming back from it. After enduring a relentless series of blows—the online violence, the trauma of her assault, and the death of her beloved grandmother—the original owner finally succumbed to the cruelty of the keyboard warriors and jumped to her death.

Tragically, it was only after her death that the truth was clarified. The internet trolls put away their ugly comments and suddenly expressed wishes that she were still alive. But what was the use once a person was gone?

The original Yu Lan had been an innocent, kind girl who held onto her principles, even hoping to save herself for marriage when she was with Gu Shi. In reality, when Gu Shi claimed he was tired of her personality, it was simply because he had found a better option: a third-tier star named Yu Yueri.

As the saying goes, a scumbag pairs perfectly with a "green tea" bitch—and Yu Yueri was a textbook definition of one. Worse, she was a reborn green tea. Equipped with the golden finger of rebirth and hiding behind the facade of a harmless, innocent lotus, she caught Gu Shi's eye. She eventually became a famous actress, screenwriter, and composer, praised by the public as a rare, multi-talented genius.

But how did she acquire so many titles? She plagiarized. Relying on her knowledge of the future from her previous life, she blatantly copied hit novels and famous songs, feeling absolutely no guilt. She completely ignored the devastating impact this had on the original, talented newcomers who were stripped of their big breaks. Some of those creators were even counter-sued and slandered for plagiarizing Yu Yueri, ruining their reputations forever.

Yu Yueri constantly stole the spotlight and applause that rightfully belonged to others. Even her acting skills were just a reliance on her past life's experience, rendering her average at best in this life. When she fell for Gu Shi, she naturally targeted the original Yu Lan, who was standing in her way. She secretly hired internet trolls to orchestrate the cyberbullying campaign and anonymously sent Yu Lan proof of her affair with Gu Shi—the final straw that broke the camel's back.

Why target her so viciously? Pure jealousy. Because Yu Lan had lived a wonderful life in Yu Yueri's previous timeline. Human hearts could truly be sinister.

The original owner's wishes were simple: take good care of her grandmother, and fight back against the online blacklisting to clear her name.

Reading through the memories, Yu Lan sighed. "Little one, where are the original owner's parents? In the depths of this body's memories, I catch glimpses of a beautiful princess-like girl surrounded by loving parents, laughing happily."

"Host, let me double-check," the system replied, puzzled. "You actually unlocked a forgotten memory. In the original plot line, her parents are just treated as extra cannon fodder, and their background isn't explained. You will have to investigate her background carefully to find out the truth."

The system remained deeply confused. How did the host unlock hidden memories? This shouldn't be happening. It finally chalked it up to karma, thinking, Maybe it's just cause and effect. Yu Lan smiled inwardly. It seems this silly system doesn't know the extent of my power. It was a power she was born with. Now, it was actively healing her injured soul and repairing her physical body. This power was clearly far from simple. After adapting to this world, it even seemed to be upgrading.

Let's take it slow, Yu Lan thought. One day, its mysteries will unfold.
