In the arena, Conrad fought three or four more battles.
Most of the people he fought had the simplest of nen abilities and were only capable of taking down the people they came across with simple trickery, or they were lucky to get down on them and have their basics be more powerful than the opponents'.
It was not even worth mentioning.
After about one week later, Conrad was now ready for one of the last battles.
"Serivo Halmena" was the name of the man he needed to fight.
After he wins this match, he will have his chance to challenge a floor master.
As Conrad sat on his chair and drank, he thought.
"The level of opponents in the 200s is not worth mentioning in my eyes at this stage."
"Most of them are pretty dumb when it comes to using their nen, and almost all of them did not know about the advanced applications of 'nen.' Not considering Adarte and Anisa, most of them do not even know how to use 'Gyo' properly or use it like it can be only used on the eyes."
Conrad shook his head.
He believed himself to be not that powerful in terms of experience and knowledge, as well as mindset.
But, the fact that his volume and mastery of over-aura control were there, he could safely say that he should be around the level of Knuckle if it comes down to the control of aura.
"Knuckle…" He could not but think about the man when he compared him to himself.
The reason being was the ability of him, Hakoware; it was an interesting ability.
"Loan shark—type of ability."
"If you do not pay your debt, you bust, and then the use of your nen is, at that point, stopped for one month of the time."
"I may use him to train in later times…"
Conrad then focused back on his opponent. The reason why he was focusing on this man is that he heard great things about him.
It is said that he had some connection with Kastro himself and taught him how to use Nen.
"I think, as the next year is about to come, I should see more familiar faces in the Heavens Arena."
"It is my luck that I have not encountered Hisoka for the time being."
Conrad remembered Kastro, but of course at this point, he was not somebody that he would take seriously in a man battle or any kind of a battle. But this did not mean that he was not some sort of a talented guy.
Any individual Hisoka decides to not kill outright and wait for them to grow some more and have more talent and potential than the general crowd.
"It should be a great fight." Conrad thought as he thought about Serivo.
Conrad believed Serivo was a great nen user not because of his teaching capability.
Maybe he was a great man, but despite what he said to Kastro, Kastro did not listen to him and kept on working on his double ability despite being an enhancer himself.
Those things were unknown.
-
The time passed, and the day of the battle arrived.
People loved Conrad, and more than loving him, they loved to watch his fights.
Because Serivo also had some sort of fame, the people crowded the arena, and tickets sold like crazy.
Conrad entered the arena, and then not much time later, Serivo, the man, entered.
It was a middle-aged man with long black hair and blue leather clothes; he did not carry any weapon on himself or anything.
Serivo looked at Conrad and nodded.
"You are a powerful opponent; I respect you," he said.
Conrad smiled and nodded, saying nothing.
After five to ten seconds, the battle started.
Conrad first decided to watch and decide what to do; he wanted to entertain himself. His focus was not on ending the battle quickly but on having fun and learning if possible.
Serivo formed a claw-like hand shape and then launched directly.
"An enhancer, perhaps." Conrad thought and dodged to the left; one strike, two strikes, he dodged all of the attacks of Serivo.
"He is definitely above the others I have fought."
"Adarte and Anisa would have some problems against him."
Serivo then stopped and closed his eyes.
"It seems like, if I do not give everything I have to fight against you, I am not worthy in your eyes," he said as he looked a little bit surprised.
He understood that Conrad was not taking this battle seriously; if he wanted him to take himself seriously, the only way to fight is to use whatever he got.
"Good…" Conrad whispered, and Serivo opened his eyes.
The claw-shaped hands of his glowed with a greenish sheen, and then one second later, they changed forms and then turned into the white paws of a tiger; also, his energy and explosive power increased a lot.
"White Tiger Soul—Tiger Claws!" With Serivo saying these words, he launched again.
This time, Conrad dodged to the right, but he was not capable of dodging the full frontal of the attack, and then a drop of blood landed on the ground from his cheeks.
"Now, this is a real battle," he said and smiled as he let the orbs fly and got ready for the real battle.
Serivo looked at Conrad and the orbs that flew and smiled.
The smile was there because he believed Conrad now understood that he needed to take himself seriously.
For a lot of warriors and people who live to fight and martial artists, not being taken seriously by an opponent was a pretty disgraceful and disrespectful act.
He then said to Conrad with determination glowing within his eyes, mirroring what he feels deep within his soul.
"Each time I use my ability, I need to fight a tiger-like creature, nothing with my bare hands without nen."
"I also can use this ability for up to one hour of time…"
"I also have to tell you about these things, so make it worth it."
Conrad laughed and nodded.
It was a funny and unexpected condition. He needed to fight a tiger with his bare hands each time he wanted to store one use of the ability, or tiger-like creature; it is a funny condition, but it would work.
In terms of explaining the ability, that was not that shocking, as it was a great and simple way to increase one of the powers, like Genthru did.
"I will see what you can do," he said to the man, and then orbs flew towards to the man, ready to destroy him.
