Conrad had always known, deep down, just how useful Ancient Script truly was.
However, these new experiments were showing him something else entirely.
He hadn't been using it efficiently.
As a Nen user, if he learned to apply Ancient Script properly, he could create plans that were far more complex, flexible, and intelligent than anything he had considered before.
It could be used for gathering information, evaluating situations, logistics, preparation, and countless other purposes.
"Actually, if I think about it..."
"I could even create a Nen ability specifically designed to make Ancient Script itself more effective."
"But when I consider the freedom and power it would give me, the entire situation changes."
The simplest example of this concept, while not directly related to Ancient Script itself, was Basho's Nen ability.
Great Haiku aligned almost perfectly with the type of ideas and applications Conrad had in mind.
"The smartest approach is still to move forward slowly and carefully."
"I already have several new Nen abilities in mind. Before making any large-scale developments, covering my weaknesses is far more important."
With those thoughts in mind, Conrad returned to his hotel room.
He took a shower, ordered something to eat, and sat down in front of his computer.
Then he accessed the Hunter License network.
From an outside perspective, using his Hunter License could potentially create problems.
However, refusing to use it could create problems as well.
At the moment, he had no intention of taking action against the Hunter Association.
Because of that, moving calmly and carefully especially avoiding becoming a target himself was extremely important.
"Hmm..."
"There is some information about Nen on the Hunter Network."
"Most of it is basic knowledge. Nothing particularly useful to me."
"Which means..."
"My target should be people."
Conrad took a deep breath and began thinking.
Who could help him right now?
Who possessed enough experience, knowledge, and understanding to broaden his perspective?
"Ging is the first person that comes to mind."
"But before meeting him, I'd rather become stronger."
"If possible, I'd like to gain more experience first."
He continued thinking.
"Biscuit is primarily a fighter."
"I'm sure her knowledge of Nen is enormous, but fundamentally she's a combat specialist before she's a Nen researcher."
Conrad continued to focus.
Very few names came to mind.
And the ones that did failed to excite him.
"Then..."
"It looks like it's time for a mysterious adventure."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
While he had considered visiting places like Deep Point, those locations no longer interested him as much as they once had.
They were mysteries that already possessed answers.
What interested him now were the unknowns.
As a result, he shifted his attention toward locations that were more mysterious and less explored.
He began browsing the Hunter Network.
"Mountain of Rakas."
"A huge mountain inhabited by a creature known as the Rakas Goat. Intelligent and dangerous..."
Conrad quickly lost interest.
The mystery wasn't the mountain itself.
The mystery came from the creatures living there.
What he wanted was something that could expand his theoretical understanding while simultaneously giving him practical experience.
"Wasteland of Nero."
This location immediately attracted more attention.
The Wasteland of Nero resembled Meteor City in some ways.
Unlike Meteor City, however, it was visited only occasionally by scientists and researchers.
Its environment was extremely dangerous, making exploration difficult.
Then he found something completely unexpected.
A piece of information whose price immediately revealed its value.
Something that surprised him.
Something that made him pause.
"Mountain Region of the Kurta Clan."
"Location Information and Travel Route."
Conrad stared at the listing.
"If it's on the Hunter Network, then it definitely has value."
"The information alone costs at least five hundred million Jenny..."
"Expensive."
"But not enough to concern me right now."
He leaned back in his chair.
When he had first watched the anime and studied the original story, the Kurta Clan had always interested him.
Unfortunately, most information regarding them remained heavily classified.
As a result, he had never been able to investigate the subject deeply.
Now he had an opportunity.
A real one.
The mysteries of the Kurta Clan.
The reason Uvogin himself had acknowledged their strength.
For someone like Uvogin, that was not a small compliment.
It was significant.
And that alone was enough to capture Conrad's attention.
"It might allow me to confirm some of my theories."
"And since I have the time, I shouldn't waste the opportunity."
Without further hesitation, Conrad purchased the information.
Several minutes later, a detailed file arrived in his mailbox.
Everything necessary to reach the region.
As he skimmed through the information, a smile appeared on his face.
"Maybe becoming friends with Kurapika and asking him directly would've been easier."
The thought amused him.
Still smiling, Conrad stood up.
He packed a small travel bag and began making preparations to leave.
Learning the secrets of the Kurta Clan.
Understanding why the Phantom Troupe had exterminated them.
Every one of those questions carried enormous significance.
More importantly, each mystery offered an opportunity to study Nen through practical observation rather than pure theory.
And that was what interested him the most.
The chance to connect theory and reality.
To his surprise, the prospect filled him with excitement.
A kind of excitement he had not felt in a very long time.
He quickly checked out of the hotel, purchased a ticket, and boarded an aircraft heading toward his destination.
As the vehicle lifted into the sky, Conrad gazed out the window.
"Let's see what I'll find..."
An eager smile spread across his face.
The current Conrad the Nen user, the fighter, the planner was completely different from the Conrad who had once come from another world.
The difference between them was like the distance between mountains.
Yet despite everything that had changed, one thing remained exactly the same.
His love and curiosity for the world itself.
And now, standing on the verge of discovering one of the greatest mysteries connected to the Kurta Clan, Conrad found himself genuinely happy.
