Uriel raised an eyebrow as he looked at the turtle. It was a giant caiman turtle, also known as a snapping turtle. Its shell was covered in sharp spikes coated in polished metal.
Its eyes were black, full of rage and hunger.
Uriel rose higher into the sky, observing the magnitude of the nightmare creature.
"Wow, you're quite a big bug," he commented with slight amusement. The caiman turtle's body stretched out like a small island three kilometers in diameter.
The turtle closed its prominent mouth, raising a great column of water like a geyser of foam.
Looking at the turtle, Uriel sighed. He watched as his coffee cup and the half-eaten piece of bread slowly sank into the great river.
"You'll pay for that," he said, summoning back his second-level supreme memory, shaping it into a sword.
Using one of his dark cores, he imbued it into the newly formed sword, which turned black as the abyss.
Looking at the abomination, he threw the sword, which began to grow and extend. In the blink of an eye, the sword took on a titanic size, a kilometer long.
The turtle raised its enormous face, covered in scales and transcendent metal.
The impact was titanic. The surface of the great river rippled, becoming turbulent.
Uriel calmly watched as his sword managed to pierce first through the hard metal, then the scales, and finally through the tough skull and brain, impaling it from side to side.
The enormous creature shuddered once, twice, until it stopped completely. Its blood began to spread across the great river, staining the surface red.
[You have killed a Corrupted Titan: Ship Destroyer]
[You have obtained a memory]
Uriel blinked. His mouth was open. He looked at the sword and then at the corpse.
"That thing was a corrupted titan? And it died that easily?"
Shaking his head, he descended onto the enormous shell, then dismissed the giant sword.
Summoning Iroh, Uriel observed the goblin. He was adolescent-sized, slender, his skin like white rock, with an elusive presence as if made of mist.
The goblin looked around, asking a silent question.
Uriel gave a sinister smile.
"Well, minion, eat all the steel from this turtle."
The goblin looked at the transcendent steel. His eyes shone with hunger, and without hesitation, he ran toward the titan turtle's head, tore off a piece of steel, and began devouring it.
"I'm a good boss." Whistling a tune, Uriel checked his new memory.
Memory: [Silver Saint]
Memory Rank: Transcendent
Memory Level: VII
Memory Type: Armor
Description: [...Corruption flooded the river, and both those from the future and those from the past were infected...]
"Okay."
Enchantments: [Full Steel Body] [Curse of Sleep] [Renegade] [Sacrifice] [Ethereal] [Minor Water Dominion] [Detection Field]
Uriel's eyes widened as he saw the seven enchantments on the transcendent memory. Without waiting, he read the descriptions.
Enchantment Description: [Full Steel Body] "This armor offers you flawless protection."
Enchantment Description: [Curse of Sleep] "When entering combat, your enemies slowly begin to fall asleep."
Enchantment Description: [Renegade] "This enchantment allows you to go unnoticed in large crowds."
Enchantment Description: [Sacrifice] "By sacrificing something, you can obtain something in return."
Enchantment Description: [Ethereal] "This armor can touch the intangible."
Enchantment Description: [Minor Water Dominion] "You have minor dominion over waters."
Enchantment Description: [Detection Field] "This enchantment indicates the distance of your enemies."
Uriel frowned with some disappointment. They were all good enchantments but useless to him. His body was resistant — very resistant, in fact — and even more so after becoming transcendent.
As for the Curse of Sleep, Renegade, and Sacrifice, they weren't relevant to him for various reasons; they were useless.
As for Ethereal, Minor Water Dominion, and Detection Field, they were useless to him.
"I suppose I'll leave it in my sea of souls until I decide what to do with it," he murmured.
Looking at Iroh, he watched him devour the transcendent metal to assimilate it into his body and evolve.
Uriel lay down on the enormous steel shell with a bored expression on his face. He looked at the sky, which was merely a reflection of the great river illuminated by the divine suns.
There were no clouds, just a pristine blue across its entire expanse.
Uriel got bored. He got depressed, fell asleep, woke up, and got bored again.
Finally, after many hours and what he calculated to be one or two days, he began to enjoy the pleasant sensation of simply floating on the corpse of a corrupted titan being dragged along by the river of time.
Uriel watched the seven divided suns move slowly across the sky.
The sunrise sun faded, giving way to night. The seventh sun rose over the water and moved slowly west across the sky, followed by an spreading darkness. The silence to his left submerged into the crimson waters and disappeared, followed by another.
Soon the suns disappeared beyond the western horizon, and the sky went dark, with nothing — no moon or stars — only a soft, faint glow from the river's depths.
Several hours later, a new day arrived, and the seven suns emerged again.
Uriel yawned, found a comfortable position, took out a black eye mask and placed it over his eyes, blocking the sunlight. Then, summoning his memory, he shaped it into a large beach umbrella that he drove in firmly, providing shade. Combined with the gentle breeze, he quickly fell asleep.
Well, I suppose I can sleep too until something interesting happens. And with that thought, he fell asleep, letting Iroh continue devouring the corpse's transcendent steel.
...
Uriel felt everything shake violently.
Waking up, he removed the sleep mask from his face.
Focusing his vision, he noticed it was night.
A loud roar shook everything around him.
Standing up, slightly annoyed, Uriel transformed the beach umbrella into a black, curved sword like a dragon's fang.
Walking to the edge of the shell, his expression darkened at what he saw.
There were dozens of corrupted and fallen abominations feasting on the flesh of the caiman turtle he had killed. They had been attracted by the blood emerging from the corpse.
Looking at the horizon, he saw the seven suns beginning their ascent for a new day.
Looking around, he found Iroh, whose belly was swollen from eating so much transcendent steel.
The entire head area covered by metal plates had disappeared, consumed by the dark creature.
Approaching, he looked at Iroh, who was lying on his back.
"I suppose you can't eat anymore, huh?" he murmured, looking at the goblin.
Letting him return to his sea of souls, Uriel looked at the abominations and then at the turtle's corpse. He wouldn't let them devour it and lose all that metal, so he would take it entirely.
Darkness emerged from his body, covering the entire corpse completely, and then it simply disappeared from one moment to the next.
Creating two dark wings, he rose into the sky, watching the abominations furious over the disappearance of their meal.
Uriel looked at the abominations, which raised their furious and hungry faces.
Tilting his head slightly, he decided to test his transcendent ability of "Domination."
