Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Idol Behind the Silence

The hall was quieter than usual.

Even the sunlight streaming through the windows seemed hesitant, as if it knew something significant was about to happen.

She walked in slowly, books in hand, aware of the whispers that had grown louder since yesterday.

And then she saw him.

Lucien, standing by the window, eyes scanning the room—but not for the usual distractions. For her.

Her heart didn't race. It steadied. She was ready.

It started with a question.

"You… you're the new transfer student, right?"

A voice from the back of the classroom. Calm, curious.

"Yes," she said simply, keeping her tone even.

The student hesitated, frowning. "But… I feel like I've seen you somewhere before… like… an idol or something?"

All eyes shifted toward her.

She didn't deny it.

Lucien's gaze met hers. Quiet, protective. "Some things don't need to be explained to everyone," he said.

The room went silent.

A few students whispered again, but no one interrupted.

She lifted her chin slightly, her voice soft but clear:

"I am not ordinary. But I am still your classmate. That is all I ask you to see for now."

Lucien stepped slightly closer.

"No one here should make her feel small," he said, low enough for only the nearest students to hear.

She smiled faintly, grateful.

The partial reveal did exactly what it needed to do:

The truth wasn't fully exposed.

But everyone knew she wasn't "just another student."

And more importantly, Lucien had publicly taken her side without drama.

Later, she returned to her desk, calm.

Lucien joined her quietly, hand resting on the edge of the desk.

"You handled it well," he said.

"I had help," she replied. "From someone who never needed to prove himself to anyone but me."

He smiled softly.

The classroom buzzed quietly around them, the whispers still there—but now tinged with respect, not suspicion.

And for the first time, she realized:

Some truths didn't need to be hidden forever.

Some could wait—until the right moment, with the right person beside her.

And she was done shrinking.
