Chapter 227 - Chapter 141: The Hidden Inheritance

The group pressed deeper into the ruins, following the path revealed after the bloodline resonance. The air grew warmer and carried a faint golden glow. Ancient runes on the walls pulsed gently, reacting to Wei Chen's presence.

After walking for some time, they entered a grand circular hall. In the center stood a tall stone pillar surrounded by floating golden orbs. Unlike the previous areas, this place felt calmer, almost welcoming. The moment Wei Chen stepped inside, one of the orbs drifted toward him and hovered in front of his chest.

The orb released a soft light that enveloped him. Images and knowledge flooded his mind — fragments of an ancient inheritance tied directly to the Yang Dragon bloodline. It spoke of forgotten techniques, ways to strengthen the Nine-Suns Physique, and hidden realms connected to his lineage.

While Wei Chen absorbed the inheritance, the others stood guard around him.

Tigress Yu stood close to the entrance, her sharp eyes scanning for any threats. She glanced back at Wei Chen with a small, proud smile. "Looks like this place was waiting for someone like you."

Zhao Yin stood beside her, arms crossed. "The energy here feels different from the guardians we fought earlier. It's not trying to push us away."

Nearby, Sect Master Lan Qing and Elder Mei Yun were quietly observing the floating orbs. Lan Qing's expression had softened since the earlier events in the ruins. She turned to Mei Yun and spoke in a low voice, "This power… it feels ancient, but not hostile."

Mei Yun nodded. "Our sect never knew places like this existed. It makes me wonder how much we've been missing."

Lin Xue stayed close to Wei Chen, her hand resting lightly on his back to help stabilize the energy flow through their blood pact. Su Mei stood on his other side, watching the orbs with curiosity.

After several minutes, the light around Wei Chen faded. He opened his eyes, which now carried a deeper golden hue. The orb in front of him slowly returned to its place above the pillar.

"I received part of an ancient inheritance," Wei Chen said, his voice steady. "It's connected to the Yang Dragon bloodline. There are more pieces scattered across this realm."

He looked around at everyone, making sure to meet the eyes of both his original queens and the newly joined ones.

"This place was built to pass down power to those who carry certain bloodlines," he continued. "But it also holds warnings. There are dangers ahead if we go too deep without being ready."

Tigress Yu stepped forward. "Then we prepare properly. No point rushing into something that could get us killed."

Lan Qing nodded in agreement. "Our sect has some knowledge of ancient formations. If you allow it, we can help analyze the runes here."

Wei Chen gave her a small smile. "Your help is welcome."

While the group discussed their next steps, Wei Chen walked over to where a few of the new outer disciples were standing. He placed a hand on one of their shoulders and gave it a light squeeze.

"You all fought well earlier," he said. "Keep supporting each other. We're stronger together."

The disciple nodded, looking slightly nervous but grateful for the acknowledgment.

The group decided to rest in the hall for a while before moving further. Some of the new queens and disciples began examining the runes on the walls, while the original members took turns keeping watch.

Wei Chen sat down with Lin Xue, Su Mei, Zhao Yin, and Tigress Yu. He spoke with each of them, asking about their thoughts on the inheritance and the path ahead. He made sure to include the new queens in the conversation as well, asking Lan Qing and Mei Yun about any ancient knowledge their sect might have that could help.

As they rested, the golden glow in the hall slowly dimmed, as if the ruins themselves were giving them time to recover.

After some time, Wei Chen stood up and looked toward the path leading even deeper into the ruins.

"There's more waiting for us," he said. "But we move when everyone is ready."

The group nodded, united in purpose. The forgotten legacy of the ruins had begun to reveal itself, and the journey was far from over.
