The red light from the fragment surged outward in a sudden wave. It cut through the black mist and washed across the cracked platforms, carrying a deep, old power that answered Wei Chen's bloodline at once. The rival's golden energy flickered under the pressure. Wei Chen felt the connection settle more firmly into his core, denser and clearer than before.
The rival noticed the change immediately. His expression hardened.
"You will not take it," he said, gathering golden power into both hands.
Wei Chen did not answer with words. He moved first.
The next exchange was heavier than the ones before. The fragment's energy strengthened Wei Chen's Yang bursts, making each one sharper and more focused. The rival blocked and countered with refined golden strikes, but the balance of the fight had shifted. The platform under them cracked further. Pieces of stone fell away into the void.
Around the main clash, the rest of the group kept the battlefield clear. Tigress Yu and Zhao Yin cut down residual shadow energy that had begun to stir again under the fragment's light. Huo Yan mixed her flames with the ice from Lan Qing and Mei Yun, creating controlled bursts that pushed back anything trying to approach the center. The disciples held the edges, using short boosts from the harmony scripture to finish smaller threats quickly.
The fragment's power continued to rise. Red light spread further across the sealed area, reacting more strongly to Wei Chen than to the rival. The pull toward the source of the light grew clearer. Wei Chen could feel the location of the fragment more precisely now — deeper along the path ahead, still guarded by the last layers of the old seals.
During a short stretch where the rival was forced to defend against a rapid series of strengthened bursts, the pressure on the surrounding platforms lessened. Wei Chen used the moment without losing focus on the main fight. He passed Tigress Yu, checked the cut on her arm with a glance, then rubbed her firmly between her legs while speaking in a low voice.
"Still steady," he said. "Stay that way."
She gave a short breath and pressed against his hand for a few seconds before he returned to the rival.
A little later, while the disciples cleared broken stone from a shifting platform, Wei Chen pulled Zhao Yin close behind a more stable section. He guided her down, pushed into her mouth, and moved with controlled rhythm while the main clash continued nearby. She took him quietly until he pulled back and stepped back into the fight.
The rival pressed harder, trying to break Wei Chen's rhythm before the fragment's power could settle further. His golden energy left deeper marks across the stone. Wei Chen matched him with speed and the denser Yang the fragment had begun to feed him, slipping through openings and answering with focused bursts.
In a brief opening that followed a heavy exchange, Wei Chen found Lan Qing steadying her breathing. He dropped lower, parted her legs, and licked her with focused pressure until her thighs tensed and she came with a soft, controlled sound. He stood, wiped his mouth, and moved back into position.
Mei Yun received a short moment of attention while she prepared another cast. He stood behind her, cupped her breasts, and moved his thumbs across her nipples as he spoke close to her ear.
"Keep the mix ready. The fragment is fully waking."
She nodded, a light flush on her face, and continued.
The clash intensified again. The fragment's red light grew brighter, mixing with the golden and Yang energy already present. Some of the older residual seals in the area began to break under the pressure. Tigress Yu and Zhao Yin moved quickly to cut down the new disturbances. Huo Yan and the ice queens launched a strong combined blast that cleared a wider path toward the deeper light. The disciples held formation and prevented anything from reaching the main fight.
Wei Chen felt the fragment's connection settle even more clearly. A temporary rise in the density of his Yang energy spread through his body. The rival saw it and his expression darkened further.
"You are taking what does not belong to you," the rival said, gathering a much larger amount of golden energy than before.
The pressure around him rose sharply. At the same time the fragment's red light pulsed harder, as if answering the challenge directly.
Wei Chen prepared to meet the next full strike. The two powers built toward another collision as the deeper sealed area continued to react to the awakened fragment.
The red light ahead flared once more. The final layers of the old seals around the fragment began to crack in earnest.
