Chapter 53 - Chapter 53

Pov Narrator.

"This… "

Isagi hesitated for a second, on the inside it was something else.

—(System, quick! Tell me… do you think you can help me? Please, I beg you. I swear I'll never insult you again if you lend me a hand.)

The panic was immediate, He hadn't checked anything. He didn't even know if that movie existed in that world. He couldn't fail there. A brief mental silence. And then

[Request… accepted this time. The movie has been added to the player's inventory.]

Isagi almost sighed in relief.

—(You're great, system, you're great, I swear I'll give you a name when I have time.) —he thanked mentally. Without wasting time, he cleared his throat a couple of times, recomposing his posture and recovering his relaxed expression.

"Of course, of course I already found it." he replied naturally. He leaned slightly back in the chair, trying to look unconcerned. "But maybe we should organize ourselves better, when you have free time, Makima, we could meet at your house Or at mine." He gestured vaguely toward nowhere in particular, whistling casually while averting his gaze, avoiding direct eye contact. —(shit he almost screwed it up)

"Sounds good to me, Isagi". she finally responded. She rested her chin on her hand, adopting a relaxed posture, although her eyes remained fixed on him. "I'll wait for that day. I'll see if it can be this very week."

Her tone was soft. But there was a hint of genuine interest. Unlike many other things. Movies were something she truly liked. It was one of those few simple pleasures she still kept. That's why the idea didn't displease her at all. She had expectations. Not too high. But enough to feel a certain curiosity.

Maybe she didn't expect something extraordinary. But at least she expected it to be entertaining. And, deep down she also hoped to see what kind of person Isagi really was through that choice.

When Isagi left the office, the door barely had time to close completely before another presence took his place. A man entered without announcing himself. Gray hair. Unkempt facial hair.

A stitched scar that crossed his left cheek from the corner of his lips, giving him a rough appearance, hardened by the years. Several piercings adorned his ears: two on the left and one on the right.

He wore the Public Safety uniform, partially covered by a trench coat that dragged slightly as he walked. His presence was… heavy. Silent. But unmistakable.

He held a silver flask in his hand, from which he drank without any kind of hurry. The liquid went down his throat, and a faint sigh of satisfaction escaped his lips. Then he raised his gaze.

"Are you getting attached to one of your new dogs?" he asked in a calm, almost indifferent voice. "The higher-ups wouldn't like that… and you know it."

Kishibe. The strongest devil hunter in Japan. He remained standing, without bothering to take a seat. His posture was relaxed, In front of him, Makima did not change. She remained seated behind her desk, with that small immutable smile on her lips, as if nothing could disturb her.

Not even Kishibe's words.

"I wouldn't call it "attachment"." she replied softly. "More like curiosity. Especially about the one who just left". Her golden eyes shifted for a moment toward the door. "Isagi. Of the three new ones, he is the most interesting".

Her fingers interlaced calmly over the desk.

"Although I would prefer you not to call him a «dog». He could become a future friend, he is trying."

Kishibe remained silent. His expression didn't change much, but his eyes did. They narrowed slightly.

"…"

Had he heard that right?

"Friend?"

He lowered his gaze to his flask, turning it a little between his fingers.

—(…Maybe I've been drinking too much.) —he thought.

Makima did not have friends. Not because people didn't try to get close to her. But because she never considered anyone her equal. Never. He brought the flask back to his lips and took another drink, this time longer. When he finished, he exhaled heavily.

" Do you need something, Kishibe?". Makima asked with the same calm as always. "You don't usually visit my office."

Kishibe slowly lowered the flask, putting it away without hurry. But that small detail, That word He kept it in his mind.

"The higher-ups are forcing me to check the new "dogs"." he finally replied, with a barely perceptible hint of annoyance. "They want to know if they are well trained. So I came to see how their performance is going". His eyes moved briefly around the office, stopping on the documents. "If you don't mind…" he added in a dry tone, "for my misfortune, I'm going to review the latest reports."

He didn't sound enthusiastic. Not at all. But he didn't seem like someone who would ignore an order either.

Time: 6:55 PM at night. | Location: Potential Man House.

Isagi ran up the stairs, opening the door to his room abruptly. He took off his tie and threw it onto the chair as he dropped onto the bed, anxious, with slightly agitated breathing, the system screen deploying in front of him with a faint bluish glow that illuminated his face, going directly to the rewards area without opening anything else.

—(Let's see, let's see, let's see... first I'll go with the My Hero Academia package, and then with the Jujutsu Kaisen one). —Isagi thought, already feeling the excitement bubbling in his chest as if he were about to receive the gift he had been waiting for so long, his fingers moving impatiently.

Isagi's total luck was currently 34, so, using 22, he pressed open, holding his breath for a second.

Congratulations, you have obtained the Quirk: Rewind

RewindQuirk: Allows the user to rewind a person's body to its previous state.

"Oh... Oh! Uuuhhhh, this is big."

Isagi showed a smile with all his teeth, a mix of surprise and excitement crossing his face, Eri's Quirk, a gift so powerful it could even reverse genetics.

Although its full potential was never shown having only been used by a child, Isagi was no genius of genetics or time-related power, but if he could rewind his body to its previous state, that translated into infinite cursed energy, since he only had to rewind his body to the state before having spent cursed energy, an idea that made his mind begin to race with possibilities.

Although of course, he could see a certain risk, like rewinding the physical experience his body gained after battles, Isagi thought about it better; if instead of managing to rewind his entire body, he managed to only rewind his cursed energy reserves, it would be much more efficient and safer in the long term.

Although he didn't know if the Quirk was capable of something like that or of naturally affecting something like energy reserves. With a sigh, he directed his attention to his next reward, slowly letting out the air accumulated in his lungs; tomorrow he would have time to experiment with the Rewind Quirk.

"State reward, this reward has to do with the current state of the player upon reaching the appropriate level to receive what is rightfully theirs". Isagi read the description of the reward he had obtained upon reaching level 40 today, frowning slightly. "What? I didn't understand, so... obtain reward."

Isagi felt something change in his body, his cursed energy increased suddenly, expanding like an invisible pressure under his skin; his reserves, upon unlocking the potential of his Zenin blood, became larger, denser, heavier. For a second he swore he felt his blood heat up, running through his veins as if it were burning… and not because of his blood manipulation.

Isagi's shadow twisted as if it had a life of its own or as if something wanted to come out from the deepest part of it, undulating slightly against the ground. Isagi blinked a couple of times, feeling the new power run through his veins, adapting to him as if it had always been there.

"I don't know, but suddenly I felt like hitting a woman".

Isagi muttered, in a dry tone; of course it was a joke about the way male Zenin treated women. Dark humor, as always.

"Wait, the Ten Shadows?". Isagi's eyes shone with excitement at this.

One of the cursed techniques with the most potential in jujutsu, his breathing accelerating slightly.

"That means that... Mahoragaaaaa!"

The idea of having Mahoraga was super incredible, the shikigami that adapted to absolutely any phenomenon that struck it, evolving in the middle of combat. When Mahoraga's adaptation was completed, it not only became immune, but also developed some kind of counterattack to overcome its enemy,

seeking not only to survive, but absolute superiority against its enemy.

"Fucking SCP-682 by Alex Pres, it's broken as hell, but damn."

Even with all his excitement, Isagi was aware of something: the Divine General Mahoraga had never been tamed by users of the Ten Shadows, a truth that remained like a heavy shadow in the back of his mind.

"Well, shit".

Isagi's excitement vanished almost instantly, as if someone had turned it off abruptly, as he let his arms fall to his sides.

"If I try to tame Mahoraga, it'll beat the hell out of me, that bastard is on the level of 15-finger Sukuna, 14 if I take into account that Sukuna was only playing with him at the beginning."

Isagi let himself fall onto his back on the bed, the soft mattress received him, sinking slightly under his weight despite the frustration and discouragement that now began to emanate from him, staring at the ceiling with an empty expression for a few seconds. The idea of having Mahoraga was incredible, but the problem was that Isagi knew they would smash his face in if he faced it without having an attack that directly was an insta kill that could oneshot it.

" And I don't have anything with enough destructive power to finish it off in a single hit". Isagi said to himself, mentally going over all his current abilities, one by one, as if desperately searching for an answer.

Wind Breathing, Black Flash, danger sense, Divergent Fist, Blood Manipulation, and explosion.

"If I pour all my cursed energy into Mahoraga and make it explode, would that work? Or maybe I sacrifice the rabbits by turning them into bombs". Isagi began to murmur some possibilities, frowning, his mind working at full speed. "I mean, having Mahoraga would be like having Mewtwo in Pokémon, it's worth all the sacrifices that will be made just to have it..."

And so Isagi began to think about the multiple possibilities and ways to defeat Mahoraga, his gaze slowly getting lost as his mind sank into increasingly risky and dangerous strategies.
