-Vaughn Blackmore:
I stay inside the bathroom longer than I need to.
Partly because the heat feels good against my skin after spending the entire day outside.
Mostly because I genuinely do not want to walk back out there yet.
The bathroom is still filled with steam from the shower, warm air clinging to the walls and mirror until the entire room feels softer somehow. Quieter. The overhead light reflects faintly against the fogged glass while droplets of water slide slowly down the tiles around me.
I stand in front of the sink for a second with both hands gripping the edge of it, staring at my own reflection through the steam.
I still look irritated.
Good.
At least I haven't completely lost my mind yet.
Because apparently I'm sleeping in Ryland Grayson's bed tonight.
I still can't believe that sentence is real.
