As expected, Rai's door was closed.
The lights were off.
"Boring."
Zade rolled his eyes, dragging a hand through his hair before heading to the sink. He washed up without much thought, then paused, glancing at the covered plate on the counter.
Leftovers.
He hesitated, just for a second before lifting the lid and inspecting it like it might bite him back. Suspicious as ever, he took a cautious taste, waiting.
…Nothing.
No burning throat.
Shrugging, he ate properly after that, finishing everything without complaint. When he was done, he cleaned up, thoroughly, almost absentmindedly, leaving the kitchen exactly as it should be.
Then he headed to his room.
The silence followed him.
Zade flopped onto his bed, staring at the ceiling for a moment before grabbing his phone.
"Maybe…" he muttered, a smirk slowly forming, "if I really want to piss him off, I should send him the real thing."
His thumb hovered over the screen.
"I'm pretty sure he'll curse me out if I do that."
