That morning was filled with Ron and Ron only, heavy in both Rai's and Zade's heads as they finally started to go about their own things. It followed a long, quiet talk that they well, Zade, had conducted entirely while holding Rai close.
Honestly, Rai couldn't bring himself to be mad at Zade for hugging him. He didn't want to think too deeply about it anymore. Instead, he chose to accept those embraces as good things, simply because they felt nice and warm anyway.
Despite the lingering exhaustion, Rai got ready to go to work. The recent incident hadn't meant the school was closed, so life had to move forward. Though he had grown a little stronger in mind after the initial shock of everything, a familiar, sickening weight settled in his stomach whenever Ron crossed his mind.
Not only had that poor kid almost died, but his mother had found it to be the perfect opportunity to reveal her true, cunning self.
