Lyanna lay in her bed staring at the ceiling, thinking about Azrael and Roland's letters spread on her desk. She sat up suddenly.
Words aren't enough. I can't make this choice based on letters and memories. I need to see him. I need to face him one more time. I need to look in his eyes and see if the regret is real or if it is just desperation at losing control.
Because the question that haunted her was: Did Azrael miss her, or did he miss having a wife? Did he love her or did he just hate that she had left?
She couldn't know that from a letter. By the time dawn arrived, Lyanna had made her decision.
