So despite stamping the ground with so much force that the ground racked up and shook as if an earthquake had just happened, he only felt a little pressure from the ground.
The pressure just wasn't enough to force him to either come up or die on the ground. The pressure wasn't even enough to stop the drill from working.
She wasn't willing to give up, though. She continued to stomp on the ground as hard as she could.
But no matter what she did, Loki continued to drill through the ground. She could only continue to make futile attempts to force him.
However, Loki wasn't exactly happy with this success. This was because he had been hoping that her hatred would blind her and her anger would make her follow him into the ground.
He hadn't entered the ground to avoid her since she couldn't harm him on the surface. He had only entered the ground to use it to trap her.
