Kaelis still walked casually.
He moved through the woods, following the scent of cinnamon sugar. He watched as the footsteps from Ezra's boots became faint, uneven… until they stopped completely, as if he had fallen onto the dry ground.
'He must barely be able to stand now.' Kaelis exhaled, amusement draining away and replaced by a more pressing concern.
At first, he had found the situation entertaining.
The moment he saw Ezra Belloren, with his fierce gaze and smaller frame, he had already made a guess.
Ezra was going to be an Omega.
Not a Beta, and definitely not an Alpha.
But it had certainly been interesting at the beginning.
A boy like that being chosen as a squire by Aamon, of all people. And then later, Ezra presented as an Alpha, one who just so happened to be… smaller than most.
Kaelis had accepted it.
But even so,
Ezra fit being an Omega far more than an Alpha.
Perhaps a very strong Omega.
