Amabel had no clue that she had sparked an interest in some people. She was walking arm in arm with her mother-in-law, busy making the old lady laugh heartily and the momentum was just perfect.
"You are really ….. how could you be so dense?" Madam Langdale asked, the laughter in her not vanishing as she looked at Amabel who had her nose high in the sky as she shared some of her childhood stories.
Amabel harrumphed as she responded, "Aunty, dense? Huh, how can that be called dense? I was just being very earnest. Who confesses their love in such a manner? I simply thought that he wanted help with his homework, otherwise why give me such a letter with so many misspellings? I was going nuts with all the grammar being so dazzling," her tone filled with complaints.
Madam Langdale looked at Amabel, the wrinkles on her face deepening with how much she had laughed ever since meeting this little lass.
