Chapter 37 - gng we back

The shinobi stepped aside, their attention falling upon a lone figure.

He had dark, shaggy hair, neatly trimmed flat sideburns, sun-kissed skin, and a large X-shaped scar etched across his cheek.

Danzo Shimura's lone visible eye narrowed.

"An Uzumaki..."

"He would make a fine tool for Root."

After Hiruzen Sarutobi took office, Danzo and the village elders had established a special branch known as Root—a force meant to handle the darkness that ordinary shinobi could not.

At the moment, Root was still in its infancy.

Only ten capable shinobi served directly under him. Though many war orphans had already been recruited, they were still under training.

Danzo slowly approached the cocoon of chains.

The moment he stepped closer, however, several golden chains shot forward and hovered between him.

Danzo clicked his tongue.

"Tch."

"Blow it up."

The shinobi behind him immediately moved into action.

Several explosive tags were planted a few meters away from the dome. The chains prevented them from approaching any closer.

After retreating to a safe distance, they wrapped explosive tags around kunai.

One after another, the kunai were hurled toward the golden barrier.

The instant the chains moved to intercept them—

BOOM!

A deafening explosion erupted across the battlefield.

The ground shook violently.

Smoke and dust rose into the air like a dark cloud.

When the dust finally settled, a massive crater surrounded the dome.

Yet the golden cocoon remained completely intact.

Not even a scratch could be seen.

Danzo's eye twitched.

"Tch. Adamantine Sealing Chains."

His voice carried clear annoyance.

"We'll simply wait."

"The boy will collapse eventually. It shouldn't take long."

At least...

That was what Danzo had believed.

Minutes passed.

Then an hour.

Then another.

And another.

The golden dome remained standing.

Danzo slowly began questioning his life now.

The shinobi under him were equally exhausted.

They simply waited.

And waited.

Finally, many hours later, the chains began to lose their glow.

One by one, the golden links crumbled into particles of light before vanishing completely.

The dome dispersed.

At its center lay the unconscious boy.

Even in his sleep, his arms remained tightly wrapped around a small bundle of red hair.

The little girl was still protected within his embrace.

Danzo released a long breath.

"Finally."

He gestured toward one of his subordinates.

"Bring them."

The shinobi nodded and carefully picked up both children.

An entire night had passed while they waited for the chains to disappear.

The first rays of dawn were already rising over the horizon.

Hours later.

The group arrived at the gates of Konohagakure.

The guards quickly stepped aside after recognizing Danzo.

Everything seemed normal.

Everything was under control.

Then

Puff!

A cloud of smoke suddenly erupted.

The shinobi carrying the children froze.

The weight in his arms vanished.

Danzo's eye widened.

The two children were gone.

Only a fading cloud of white smoke remained.

Silence fell over the gate.

Danzo stared at the empty air.

For the first time in years, great anger was visible on his face like someone has declared that 9th hokage will be an uchiha.

"...When?"

His voice was low.

The Root shinobi exchanged stunned glances.

Not a single one of them had sensed anything.

Nothing.

The realization slowly dawned upon them.

They had been carrying a shadow clone the entire time.

Danzo's expression darkened.

Veins bulged on his forehead.

"DAMN IT!"

The furious roar echoed throughout the village.

"These Uzumakis!"

Birds scattered into the sky as his voice rang across Konoha.

......

Uzushio

Seven years had passed since the end of the First Shinobi World War.

The scars left by the war had slowly faded with time.

Nations rebuilt their forces, villages recovered their losses, and a new generation of shinobi had begun to emerge.

Among all the hidden villages, Uzushiogakure stood stronger than ever.

Protected by the vast sea and strengthened by the prosperity that followed the war, the Land of Whirlpools had entered an era of growth.

And at the top this power threshold stood a figure.

Malenia Uzumaki.

she was now 22 years old.

Standing at 8 feet 4 inches (254 cm), her tall figure naturally towered above nearly everyone around her.

Long crimson hair flowed down her back like a waterfall of red silk, reaching past her waist. Her skin was fair, while her sharp eyes. The years had refined her features, giving her a mature beauty that matched her status as The Majesty

She wore a white and crimson robe bearing the symbols of the Uzumaki Clan. Golden ornaments decorated portions of her attire, while a simple crown rested atop her head.

The streets of Uzushiogakure were lively as usual.

Merchants displayed their goods along the roads.

Children ran through the streets laughing and playing games.

Fishermen returned from the sea with fresh catches.

Shinobi moved between districts carrying out their duties.

Malenia walked through the village at a leisurely pace.

Her hands were folded behind her back as she observed the people around her.

She occasionally stopped to inspect newly constructed buildings or exchange a few words with villagers who greeted her.

"Good morning, Your Majesty."

"Have a safe journey, Your Majesty."

She acknowledged each greeting with a small nod before continuing onward.

The village had changed greatly over the years.

New homes had been built.

The academy, health care, security, all were well developed.

Trade routes with neighboring nations had increased.

Even the population had nearly doubled compared to the years immediately after the war.

As she walked through the bustling streets, her gaze swept across the thriving village.

Today was a special day.

The first generation of students to have completed their education under Uzushiogakure's academy system would officially graduate.

...........

The academy grounds were packed with people.

Parents filled the stands.

Shinobi from various divisions stood around the perimeter while merchants and civilians gathered wherever space allowed.

Rows of young students stood proudly in formation at the center of the field.

Some tried to maintain a serious expression.

Others could barely contain their excitement.

As Malenia arrived, conversations gradually died down.

The crowd parted to allow their queen passage.

Her crimson hair swayed gently in the sea breeze as she made her way toward the raised platform overlooking the grounds.

The academy instructors immediately bowed.

The students straightened their backs.

Thousands of eyes followed her every movement.

Malenia stepped onto the stage and turned toward the gathered crowd.

Silence fell over the academy.

Her eyes swept across the graduates before her gaze settled upon them.

For a few moments, she simply observed them.

The children who would become the future of the village.

Then she spoke.

"Seven years ago, our village emerged from war."

When she spoke, her voice carried across the entire field.

"Look around you."

The students remained still.

"Seven years ago this village stood upon the ashes of war."

"We lost fathers."

"We lost mothers."

"We lost brothers and sisters."

"But we did not break."

Her voice grew firmer.

"We endured."

"We grew stronger."

The spiral banners of Uzushio fluttered behind her.

"And now..."

Her eyes settled upon the rows of graduates.

"...you stand before me."

"The first generation born from that struggle."

"The first generation raised in peace."

A pause followed.

Then her voice thundered across the grounds.

"Do not mistake peace for weakness!"

The crowd straightened instinctively.

"Peace exists because there are those willing to defend it."

"It exists because there are those willing to stand against every storm that threatens their home."

She pointed toward the distant village walls.

"Beyond those walls are nations."

"Beyond those nations are enemies."

"The world does not reward the weak."

"The world does not pity the unprepared."

"The world respects strength."

A heavy silence hung over the academy.

"But strength is not found in your fists."

"It is not found in your weapons."

"It is not found in your bloodline."

Her gaze sharpened.

"True strength is found in your resolve."

"The resolve to protect."

"The resolve to endure."

"The resolve to stand when others fall."

Her voice echoed throughout the grounds.

"One day, the burden of this village will pass to your shoulders."

"One day, you will be the shield that guards Uzushio."

"One day, when danger comes to our shores..."

"...it will be your courage that stands between our people and destruction."

The graduates listened without moving.

Malenia raised her chin.

"Surpass those who came before you."

"Make your names worthy of remembrance."

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"And when the world looks upon Uzushiogakure..."

"...let them see a nation that cannot be shaken."

"...a nation that cannot be conquered."

"...a nation that will endure for generations to come."

The crowd erupted into applause.........
