Chapter 55 - The Blood Moon Marriage and the Forbidden Inheritance

The sky over Kashi was not black; it was a bruised, pulsating crimson. The Blood Moon had risen, signaling the exact moment the 5,000-year-old curse would manifest. Inside the inner sanctum of the palace, the air was thick with the scent of metallic Potnuri blood and ancient incense.

The Birth and the Vow

As the moon reached its zenith, Pravalika gave a final, harrowing cry. A flash of indigo light blinded everyone in the room. When the light cleared, standing in the center of the chamber was not an infant, but a girl who looked six years old. Her hair was like spun midnight, and her eyes held the depth of an ancient ocean. This was Chitra.

She stood with grace, her gaze immediately landing on Veer Takshak. At seven years old, Veer looked back at her with the cold, calculating eyes of a King.

"The time is now," the Royal Astrologer whispered, his voice trembling. "The curse or the union. Choose."

Veer stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of his blade. "I am the Eldest Son of the Potnuri. I do not let my bloodline perish. I will marry her."

Chitra looked at him, a faint, knowing smile touching her lips. "I accept the union, Young Demon Killer."

The ceremony was swift and spectral. Rudra performed the rites using the Bama Kali, binding their souls under the witness of the Blood Moon. As the bond snapped into place, the indigo aura around Chitra stabilized. She laughed, a sound surprisingly sweet for someone born of a curse, and began talking to Veer as if they had known each other for lifetimes.

"I am tired, Husband," Chitra said playfully, though her eyes remained sharp. "The journey from the womb was long. I want to go to sleep."

Veer nodded stoically, leading her to the royal quarters. The curse was broken, but the legend was just beginning.

The Forbidden Skill: 50% Absorption

Once the children were settled, Rudra called Veer to the rooftop, where the crimson moonlight washed over them. Rudra's aura was stifling, a reminder that he was still the Sovereign.

"Veer," Rudra spoke, his voice heavy. "You have taken a great burden tonight. To reward your loyalty, I am passing down a skill that even the Gods fear. It is the Half-Power Observation & Absorption."

Veer looked up, interested. "Like the King Vali from the Ramayana, Father?"

"Exactly," Rudra replied. "Once activated, any enemy within your range will immediately lose 50% of their strength, and that power will flow into you. It makes the strongest foe a weakling and makes you a titan. Use it only when the world is at stake."

With a touch of his finger to Veer's forehead, Rudra transferred the mental seal of the skill. Veer's body jerked as the massive data of 5,000 years of combat logic surged into his brain.

The Growth of the Eight Pillars

While Veer mastered the ultimate absorption, the other children were not idle. Rudra had tailored their training to their innate Potnuri traits:

Viraj (125 IQ): He mastered the Perfect Shape-Shifting skill. He could now mirror anyone's appearance and voice, making him the ultimate spy and infiltrator.

Arjun Dev: He was granted the Elemental Void Bow. He could now fire arrows infused with the Five Elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space), along with a terrifying Dark and Light arrow that could erase or create matter.

Ishana: He was given the Trident (Trishula) Skill, learning to manipulate the three points of the trident to control the past, present, and future of a physical strike.

The Girls (Manasa, Padma, Lakshimi, Latha): They were deep in the secret gardens of the Naga Loka, learning to weave their energy into defensive barriers that even a nuke couldn't penetrate.

The Complaint of the Brothers

In the midst of the training, the communication mirrors in the hall began to vibrate violently. The faces of Sai and Jaswanth appeared, looking half-indignant and half-amused.

"Brother Rudra!" Sai shouted. "You've kept us on the sidelines! We are your brothers in the RSS, your fellow Potnuri warriors, and you didn't even tell us about the wedding?"

Jaswanth laughed behind him. "We heard the Blood Moon reached its peak and the curse was broken. We should have been there to celebrate with the Young Demon Killer!"

Rudra sighed, a small smirk playing on his lips. "It wasn't a celebration, it was a necessity. Your time will come, brothers. The clans are moving."

The Disturbance in the Forest

Suddenly, a terrifying roar echoed from the forbidden forest surrounding the palace. The birds flew up in a frantic cloud. Pravalika, worried for her new life, asked, "Can we leave, Brother? Is it safe?"

"No," Rudra said, his hand going to his sword. "You stay behind the shield."

Before Rudra could move, Veer Takshak appeared, his cloak fluttering in the wind. "I'll handle it, Father. My bride is awake, and she wants to see what her husband can do."

Chitra stepped out from behind him, looking refreshed and dangerous. "The forest is screaming, Uncle," she said to Rudra. "Something from the Mano Clan has crossed the border."

Without waiting for permission, Veer and Chitra blurred into the shadows, heading straight for the source of the sound. The Young Lion and the Indigo Bride were heading

into their first hunt together. The red moonlight of the Blood Moon didn't just illuminate the forest; it turned the shadows into liquid terror. As Veer Takshak and his young bride Chitra stepped into the clearing, the very trees seemed to weep black sap. From the darkness, four towering figures emerged. They weren't just common soldiers; they were Vanguard Assassins from the Mano and Vara Clans, sent to test the strength of the Potnuri heirs.

The lead demon, a monstrosity with obsidian skin and eyes like burning coal, stepped forward. His voice sounded like grinding stones. "I am Kharak of the Mano. I have come to take the head of the boy they call the 'Young Demon Killer.' Where is he?"

Veer stepped into the center of the clearing, his small frame looking tiny compared to the seven-foot demon. "I am Veer Takshak. If you want my head, you'll have to take it from the ground—because your body will be under my feet."

Behind the castle's invisible shield, Rudra stood with his arms crossed, his eyes glowing with a cold intensity. Next to him, Pravalika and Kamal watched with bated breath, their hearts pounding as they saw their new son-in-law face a beast that could level a village.

The Clash of Titans

Without a word, Kharak lunged. He swung a massive jagged greatsword. Veer drew his blade in a blur of silver. When the two swords met, the impact created a shockwave so powerful that the glass windows of the distant outer towers shattered into a thousand pieces.

Clang!

The sound was deafening. The other three demons watched from the sidelines, their eyes widening. They expected the boy to be crushed into the dirt. Instead, Veer held his ground, his feet sinking inches into the soil but his arms as steady as a mountain.

"Is that all the Mano Clan has?" Veer hissed, his eyes turning a deep, demonic crimson.

Suddenly, Chitra moved. She didn't use a sword; she moved like a streak of indigo light. She circled the other three demons, her speed so high that she left afterimages behind. "You shouldn't ignore the bride," she whispered, her voice echoing from everywhere at once.

The Battle of the Pillars

As the fight between Veer and Kharak grew more brutal, the other demons tried to intervene, but they were stopped by a sudden rain of light.

Arjun Dev stood on a high branch, his Five-Element Bow glowing. "Don't forget about us," he said coldly. He pulled back the string, and a Light Arrow materialized. He aimed at a demon charging toward Veer. The demon tried to dodge, but the arrow moved with a mind of its own, curving in mid-air to pierce the demon's shoulder, cauterizing the wound instantly with holy fire.

On the ground, Viraj was cornered by a demon with multiple arms. Viraj didn't flinch. His 125 IQ analyzed the demon's movements in milliseconds. Suddenly, his right arm shimmered and transformed into a biological Bone-Sword, sharp enough to cut through diamonds.

"This is the end for you all!" the demon roared, swinging a mace.

Viraj smirked. "Is it?"

In a flash, Viraj used his Shape-Shifting Skill. His body didn't just change shape; he turned into a Spectral Ghost. The demon's mace passed harmlessly through his chest. The demon's eyes bulged with fear. "A-A ghost?!"

Before the demon could react, Viraj solidified behind him and plunged his bone-sword through the demon's spine.

Meanwhile, Ishana was a whirlwind of destruction. He wielded his Trishula (🔱) with divine grace. A demon lunged at him, but Ishana struck the air before the demon even reached him. Because he had mastered the Time-Cut Skill, the strike landed on the demon's future position. The demon fell apart in three pieces before he even understood he had been hit.

The Crisis: The Demon Wave

Back in the center of the clearing, the fight between Veer and Kharak reached a terrifying level of violence. Veer was moving like a bolt of lightning, his slashes leaving deep grooves in Kharak's obsidian skin.

Why? Kharak thought, his mind reeling. Why is a seven-year-old boy so strong? Why does his aura feel like Rudra's?

Desperate and bleeding, Kharak roared, "Enough! Die by the Forbidden Art: Mano Demon Wave!"

A pulse of purple and black energy erupted from Kharak's body. It wasn't a physical attack; it was a frequency that messed with the nervous system. Veer was caught in the center of it. Suddenly, his body jerked. His arms moved against his will. He watched in horror as his own sword-hand turned and began to move toward his own throat.

"I-I can't control my body!" Veer gasped, his own muscles betraying him.

Seeing the opening, Kharak raised his greatsword for the final blow. At the same time, Arjun Dev tried to aim a Dark Arrow to save Veer, but a third demon had snuck up behind him on the branch, claws raised to tear Arjun's back open.

"Veer! Arjun!" Pravalika screamed from the balcony.

Rudra's hand tightened on the hilt of his sword, but he didn't move yet. He was waiting to see if his son could truly earn the title of Young Demon Killer.

The Awakening

Just as Kharak's sword began to descend, Veer's eyes didn't show fear. They showed a cold, calculating fury. He remembered the skill Rudra gave him under the Blood Moon.

Half-Power Observation... ACTIVATE!

In an instant, a black void expanded from Veer. The purple Demon Wave was instantly sucked into the void. Kharak's eyes went wide as he felt 50% of his life force, his strength, and his magic being ripped out of his body and flowing into Veer.

Veer's body regained control, now empowered by Kharak's own energy. He didn't just stop the sword; he caught the giant blade with his bare hand.

"My turn," Veer whispered.

Across the clearing, Chitra sensed Arjun's danger and fired a burst of Indigo Fire that incinerated the demon behind him. The tide of the battle had turned, but the war for

the Potnuri Vault had just begun.
