ISABEL~
Horns blared angrily, and brakes screeched against the asphalt. I stumbled along the crowded sidewalk, my eyes scanning the endless rows of rushing cars and towering skyscrapers. It was nothing like the absolute peace of the castle—a world filled with trees and a sky blanketed in stars.
Coming back here made the harsh, overwhelming reality of my situation truly sink in.
"Don't move!" Christy yelled, her voice breathless as she tried to shout over the deafening blare of city traffic.
I barely even glanced her way as I broke into a run, following the familiar path by muscle memory until the massive, towering skyscraper of Hulk Enterprises came into view.
Christy was heavily panting by the time she finally caught up to me at the entrance. "Isabel, it is six o'clock, my beloved friend. It's closing time. How are you even going to meet with him? Besides, please do not even think for a second that that absolute crackhead of a boss is your fantasy husband."
