"Make sure to call us for anything you need." Dad patted my head gently with a solemn look on his face while mum just stood holding back her tears.
I'd just packed in my dorm with the help of Samantha and my parents.
It took a while and since I was the first in here out of two, I got to choose my own bed and space.
Samantha had left earlier to answer a call while my parents and I bade our goodbye to each other.
Nodding, I hugged him and mum as she joined in making it a group– no, family hug.
I didn't know when I got teary eye but felt wetness on my cheeks.
"I'm g..gonna miss you guys." I whimpered as they both patted my back softly before letting go.
Mum gave me a last kiss on the forehead before they both left.
I never knew how leaving could be so painful.
Yet, here I was crying my heart out.
Slumping down on my bed, I gazed at the ceiling, spotting the intricate designs delicately carved on the ceiling.
The room was bigger than I thought it would.
The furnitures and frames were looking so beautiful like that of the royals.
I never knew a form could be like this. And the best part of it all was that it was just only two students allowed in a room.
I couldn't be more happy right now.
But that immediately crippled down as I remembered my parents.
I'm gonna really miss them so much.
First time alone without them close by.
This is what growing up actually feels like –independence.
Grabbing my phone I immediately dialed Samantha's number but she entered the room as I was about to call.
"They are gone?" Asking, she sat besides me.
I only gave a nod.
" I wanted to give you and your parents some privacy that's why I left." She went on to explain.
I nodded my head.
Thus was really getting to me.
'Woman up girl!!'
'Im not a freaking infant, I'm a grown adult and need to stop this sulking.'
"Are you okay?" Samantha gently nudged my shoulder.
"Yeah…just kinda blue right now. That's all" shrugging I slumped backo the bed.
"Well I know how to cheer you up!" She chipped, clapping her hands together and dragged me to my room door.
Guess someone is excited.
When Samantha first told me how nice this school was I didn't actually think it would be this good.
She took me to the court yard, and I had no words to say.
They had a big green field probably for football practice but no goal post.
"Where is the goal post?" I asked.
"Well they bring it out anytime for practice. It's not a permanent equipment do as to protect the metals from sun and rain.
That makes sense.
As we were passing by the basketball court, some boys were practicing.
We practically haven't seen anyone around so I was shocked a bit.
They were all hollering at a goal one of their mates made.
"Brian!"
Wow.
Samantha why?
Now all heads turned to us.
I felt like burying myself in the dirt and or whisking myself away.
Samantha dragged me towards the group of boys.
Probably 7 or 8 of them.
"Sammy, what's up?" A guy with short brown hair with hazel eyes came forward giving her a side hug while I just stood there.
Awkward.
"Whose your pretty friend?" He asked, glancing at me while his friends stood behind him.
I was already about to shit myself with all these stares.
"This is my Freya, she's a bit shy." She introduced me sliding her hand on my shoulder.
"Well nice to meet you Freya. What are you guys doing?" He gave me a friendly wave and asked her.
"Just showing her around that's all."
"Alright then I'll see you later. Me and the boys gotta finish this practice." He spoke patting her head softly and giving me a wave walking back with his friends.
"That was really –
"Nice? I know. Now let's get something to eat then you can get back to your room."
She interrupted me and took me to the cafeteria.
Slumping on my bed, I was really tired.
Me and Samantha had a really fun outing today
Taking a warm shower, I softly laid on my bed thinking about that awkward introduction with Brian.
I never even got to ask if that was her boyfriend or not.
Maybe tomorrow.
But I know that this place is gonna be filled with a lot of ups and downs.
I already have that gut feelings there.
Or I'm just being paranoid.
We'll see.
Closing my eyes, I hoped to have a nice sleep and finally slept off.
