Earth-616 held its breath.
Project Spiral Cage went live over the Pacific, far from civilians, far from sentiment.
Satellites aligned. Runes ignited. Stark satellites folded gravity. Reed Richards collapsed space into layered non-places.
Doctor Strange wove a tri-mandala meant to bind will itself.
Zar arrived on time.
He stood in the center of the construct, arms at his sides, base aura sealed so tightly the instruments screamed false negatives.
Tony Stark smiled.
"Containment," he said.
The Cage snapped shut.
Physics, magic, and higher-dimensional math intersected. Pressure mounted. Time stuttered. A sedative field that had been tuned to nervous systems across species flooded the chamber.
Zar inhaled.
Then he moved.
Not explosively. Not dramatically.
Methodically.
He tested the Cage with a knuckle.
Space resisted. He adjusted. Ki density shifted by microns.
Another tap.
A layer failed then he pushed ki outward violently, shattering their hard work .
Green scar Hulk charged.
Zar' stepped inside the punch, redirected the force down Hulk's arm, and folded the green giant into the floor with a knee that rattled tectonic plates. Earthquakes across the state.
Captain Marvel struck next—full output.
Zar caught her wrist, snapped it , rotated, and drove her into the remaining part of cage wall hard enough to crater reality.
Thor hurled lightning infused mjolnir
.
Zar caught the hammer , gripped it with ki infused hands , and detonated the ki . Mjolnir cracked again.
Strange tried to rewrite the moment.
Zar turned his head and used a compressed mouth beam and shot it towards the ground, with a large explosion .
That froze the spell in its tracks .
"Stop treating me like a variable to solved ," Zar said calmly.
He powers up to the highest level of his base and ripped the new spells cast apart layer by layer, each failure teaching his base form something new how to breathe in folded space, how to walk through verdicts, how to ignore sedation by rewriting instinctive internal rhythm.
When it was over, the Avengers lay broken but
Not mercy.
Instruction.
Zar vanished, trying to return to the dragon ball universe but another entity decided to interfere as well
The Dark Multiverse welcomed him with applause.
The trap activated the instant Zar crossed the threshold.
Worlds unfolded as mirrors stacked on mirrors.
Victories multiplied until they blurred. In every reflection, Zar won faster, easier, cleaner.
The Darkest Knight stepped forward.
"You see?" Wayne said gently. "Your philosophy works. Perfectly. And that's why it ends."
The trap wasn't physical.
It was success.
Each win reduced resistance. Each clean conquest starved Zar growth. His base form stalled,
perfect efficiency becoming a cage.
For the first time since rebirth, Zar slowed.
He bled.
The Darkest Knight struck with narrative recursion—worlds looping outcomes until Zar inevitability consumed itself.
Zar being a saiyan, adapted.
He took notes from vegeta and buu saga Gohan and failed on purpose.
He allowed himself to underestimate enemies . Gained Injuries. Delays when attacking .
He shattered his own inevitability into uneven fragments, reintroducing friction. Growth resumed.
The mirrors cracked.
Zar reached through one and dragged the Darkest Knight close.
"Clever, that was a humbling experience," Zar admitted, and headbutted him through ten collapsing Bat-realities.
The Darkest Knight fell with a sinister laugh .
Not erased.
Zar chose retreat before the lesson could be reversed.
