Chapter 82 - 082 A Huge Hit to My Wallet: Dimensional Space

082 A Huge Hit to My Wallet: Dimensional Space

Half a month has passed since Judgment Day.

In that time, the FBI's Los Angeles field office has made a name for itself in Richmond, having captured over a hundred Terminators, including ten Terminator T-Xs!

In the FBI's Los Angeles office's temporary headquarters,

Marcus is reviewing a report sent by Ayanami. Including the Terminator T-1000 covering Marcus, he currently possesses a total of 119 Terminators.

This includes 60 Terminator T-800s, 49 Terminator T-1000s, and 10 Terminator T-Xs, all under his highest authority.

"System, are you there?" Marcus asks in his mind.

The System has been worn down by Marcus; the once noble System has become a service system. Whatever Marcus says goes. Being a dutiful service system isn't so bad.

"Host, speak," the System responds.

"I've read some novels before, and it seems that other people's systems all provide the host with something like a storage space. Don't you have that function?" Marcus coaxed.

"..." The System was speechless. This tactic was too blatant; it wasn't just a subtle hint, it was a direct demand.

"If the host uses Destiny points to reverse causality and open up a dimensional space, then the system can provide storage space," the System responded.

"More Destiny points?" Marcus displayed his frugal nature.

After all, Marcus was ruthless, unwilling to even use Destiny points to improve his own four-dimensional attributes.

"..." The System was speechless. What could it say?

Marcus waited for a while, but didn't receive a response from the System. He could only ask, "How many Destiny points are needed for a dimensional space? What is the size of the dimensional space? Does opening and closing require Destiny points, or other energy, such as mental energy?"

Marcus added, "If each opening and closing requires energy, how much energy is needed? Is the energy consumed for storing and retrieving items related to the quantity?"

"Also, is the dimensional space a one-time payment for permanent access after opening, or are there subsequent fees, such as requiring a certain number of Destiny points to maintain its stability for a period of time?" Marcus asked about every loophole he could think of.

After all, Marcus had read many novels, and he understood these tropes!

The System almost went into overload!

"Please rest assured, host, the dimensional space is a stable space. Once opened, it will exist stably. Unless influenced by an extremely powerful external force, the dimensional space will absolutely not collapse," the System explained, indicating that the dimensional space is incredibly stable and there is no recurring fee.

"Because the dimensional space is a stable existence, and at the time of its opening, it will attach itself to the host's soul, forming a soul connection, essentially becoming a part of the host's soul. Whether opening or closing the dimensional space, or storing or retrieving items, it can all be done through willpower, without any additional energy consumption, as natural and simple as breathing." The System provides supplementary explanations.

"Opening the dimensional space requires 1000 Destiny points. The volume of the dimensional space is equivalent to a sphere with a diameter of 100 meters." The System responded to Marcus's question.

Marcus had initially decided against opening the system space when he heard it required 1000 Destiny points; after all, those were 1000 Destiny points, and Marcus valued his Destiny points dearly!

But the System was something else. It first listed the advantages of the dimensional space, and then mentioned its 100-meter diameter. Marcus could only say, "Wow, that's impressive!"

"Ahem, System, I've noticed a problem," Marcus said tentatively.

"What problem?" the System asked.

"Why is the dimensional space a sphere with a diameter of 100 meters? Could it be changed to a cube with sides of 100 meters? A cube has better regularity; a round sphere isn't convenient for storing things, is it?" Marcus said tentatively.

Actually, Marcus was playing tricks again!

According to the formula for the volume of a sphere, multiplying 4/3 by pi and then by the cube of the radius, a sphere with a diameter of 100 meters would have a volume of approximately 523,600 cubic meters.

If it were a cube with sides of 100 meters, its volume would be the cube of its side length, which is 1 million cubic meters.

The difference in volume is almost double!

Marcus was testing whether the System understood mathematics. If the System didn't understand mathematics, then...hehehe?

Unfortunately, Marcus miscalculated!

"Sorry, host, for the stability of the dimensional space, its shape can only be spherical, thus ensuring the best stability," the System responded.

The System continued, "If the host is willing to consume another 1000 Destiny points to stabilize the dimensional space into a cube, that is also possible."

Marcus refused without hesitation. "You damn system, you still say you're not trying to cheat me out of Destiny points?"

"..." The System was speechless.

"Alright, a thousand points it is. My wallet's bleeding today, a whole thousand Destiny points! This is too much!" Marcus said frugally, but the dimensional space was very useful, so he decided to create one anyway.

After all, Marcus now possessed 119 Terminators, plus the FBI's Los Angeles office had stored over a hundred Terminator T-800 miniature nuclear reactors. To take all of these things away, a dimensional space was naturally needed.

"Please confirm the input of one thousand Destiny points to reverse causality and construct a dimensional space," the System prompted.

Marcus hummed in response. "Hurry up and get this done—that's a whole thousand Destiny points, I... feel the pinch!"

A few seconds later, the System prompted, "Dimensional space construction complete, merging into the host's soul. Please sense if you can already detect the dimensional space?"

Marcus tried to sense the dimensional space, and then he found that he could indeed sense it. Moreover, the existence of that dimensional space was like his limbs; he could control it freely with his will.

Marcus tried it out. Within his field of vision, he could pull any object within his sight directly into the dimensional space if he wanted.

Marcus was a little excited. "Holy crap! This system is amazing! It can actually pull these things directly into the dimensional space! If I encounter an enemy, can I pull the enemy in too?"

"Host is thinking too much," the System replied. "As I just said, the dimensional space is attached to the host's soul, which means that beings with souls cannot enter the dimensional space."

"..." Marcus was speechless. "Ayanami doesn't have a soul, does she?"

"Of course not. In fact, even electronic life forms that have awakened true intelligence, including Skynet, still don't have true souls," the System explained.

Marcus's eyes lit up. "Skynet doesn't even count as a sentient being?"

Marcus originally had no interest in Skynet!

Even through the dimensional portal, he couldn't bring sentient beings to other worlds.

So, Skynet isn't considered sentient?
