Chapter 200 - The Bride Who Refused to Wait

The wedding of Nyxian Darquebane was anything but quiet.

From the moment the ceremony ended, the celebration exploded into something between a royal festival and barely-contained chaos.

Music echoed through the courtyard.

Wine flowed freely.

And the entire Succubus city—and a good portion of the United Kingdoms—had gathered to witness it.

Nyxian stood beside Jax.

Radiant.

Dangerous.

Barely holding it together.

She smiled for the crowd.

Waved when expected.

Accepted congratulations.

But her fingers…

Never stopped touching him.

Brushing his arm.

Sliding along his back.

Gripping just a little tighter than necessary.

Inner Thoughts (Nyxian):

Why are we still here?

Why are we still talking?

We already did the important part…

Jax leaned slightly toward her.

"Behave," he murmured.

She leaned into him, lips near his ear.

"I am behaving."

A pause.

Then softer—

"Barely."

The first attempt came fifteen minutes into the reception.

A simple tug on his sleeve.

"Come with me," she whispered.

"Where?"

She smiled.

"The back room. I need help… adjusting something."

Jax looked at her.

Then at the crowd.

Then back at her.

"…You're not subtle."

"I don't want to be subtle."

He exhaled slowly.

"Give it time."

She narrowed her eyes.

"…Time is overrated."

She lasted another ten minutes.

This time, she didn't even ask.

Jax felt her presence vanish from his side.

Then—

A shift.

A presence lower than expected.

He froze.

Looked down.

Then immediately forward again.

"Nyxian."

From somewhere very out of sight—

"Yes, my beloved?"

"…We are in public."

"And yet you noticed."

His jaw tightened.

"Stand up."

Jax reached down—subtle to everyone else—

Not subtle to her—

And gently but firmly corrected the situation.

Nyxian reappeared moments later.

Hair slightly out of place.

Smile absolutely unhinged.

Llandra watched from across the table.

"…She's going to cause a diplomatic incident."

Bunny grinned.

"I'm just impressed she's lasted this long."

Zee sipped her drink calmly.

"She hasn't."

Attempt Three

Nyxian grabbed his hand.

Full pull this time.

"No excuses. Come now."

"Nyx—"

"Now."

There was a tone in her voice.

One Jax knew well.

He let her pull him.

Through the crowd.

Through a side hall.

Into a quiet corridor.

The door shut behind them.

Silence.

For exactly one second.

Then Nyxian turned—

Pressed him back against the wall—

Eyes glowing faintly—

Breathing uneven.

"I waited through the ceremony," she said.

"I waited through the speeches."

"I waited through the dancing."

Her voice dropped.

"I'm done waiting."

Jax smiled slightly.

Hands settling at her waist.

"Five more minutes."

Her eye twitched.

"…You're testing me."

"Absolutely."

She stared at him.

Long.

Hard.

Dangerous.

Then—

Stepped back.

"…Fine."

She walked to the door.

Paused.

Looked over her shoulder.

"You owe me."

Jax chuckled.

"I'm aware."

The Escape

They didn't make it to the end of the reception.

Not even close.

One more speech.

One more toast.

One more attempt from Nyxian—

This time just staring at him like she might physically drag him out in front of everyone—

And Jax stood.

"Thank you all for coming," he said smoothly.

"We'll… continue this tomorrow."

The crowd CHEERED.

They knew.

Everyone knew.

Nyxian didn't wait.

Didn't walk.

Didn't pretend.

She grabbed his hand—

And they were gone.

The Honeymoon

The door shut.

Locked.

Silence.

Then—

Nyxian turned slowly.

The composure.

The control.

The patience—

Gone.

"Finally."

Jax barely had time to respond before she was already on him—

Not frantic—

Not reckless—

But intentional.

This wasn't desperation.

This was anticipation.

Days.

Weeks.

Months—

Of build-up.

Of restraint.

Of knowing—

And now?

No interruptions.

No audience.

No expectations.

Just them.

Time blurred.

Moments stretched.

Collapsed.

Reset.

Nyxian lost track early.

Very early.

Inner Thoughts (Nyxian):

Was that ten?

No…

No, that was more…

Her body felt light.

Heavy.

Everywhere at once.

Twenty?

She laughed at the thought.

Then immediately lost the ability to care.

At one point—

She genuinely couldn't tell—

If it had been moments…

Or hours.

If it had been waves…

Or one long, endless surge that never quite stopped.

There was a point—

Somewhere—

Where she stopped trying to keep count.

Is this what I wanted?

No.

This is more.

She clung to him at one point—

Not out of need—

But because she wasn't entirely sure the ground was still real.

Jax's voice cut through it all occasionally.

Calm.

Steady.

Grounding.

"Stay with me."

And she did.

Every time.

Eventually—

Inevitably—

Her body gave in before her will did.

She collapsed against him.

Breathing uneven.

Eyes half-lidded.

"…I think I broke," she whispered.

Jax smiled, brushing her hair back.

"You're fine."

A pause.

"…Did I peak twenty times…"

She squinted at him.

"…or did that just never stop?"

Jax chuckled softly.

"Does it matter?"

Nyxian thought about it.

For exactly two seconds.

"…No."

She settled against him.

Completely content.

Completely spent.

"…Worth it."

And for the first time all day—

Nyxian Darquebane was quiet.

For about ten minutes.

Then—

A soft voice against his chest—

"…round two?"

Jax laughed.

"Of course."
