Gideon's first task that morning was making sure Aria cataloged the residents' identities, biodata, and skills properly. Since this world was modern before the apocalypse happened, he assumed reading, writing, and basic math would not be an issue.

Instead of asking about those things, he told Aria to focus more on their last level of education and previous work experience.

Most of the older generation had been farmers and knew how to raise livestock. They all came from the same region and had eventually formed this small traveling faction together.

The younger ones were different. Many of them came from cities and had worked for various corporations before the apocalypse.

"Though this is only what I know about them so far. I still haven't interviewed most of them yet, boss," Aria said.

"We rarely talk about our past. It's painful to remember how the world changed so suddenly, like this." she snapped her fingers to emphasize the point.
