After both men were finished eating, Lucien left the dining room with John. Neither of them had touched their food, leaving large portions for her. Elise smiled.
She finally sat at the dining table and started eating, removing the beef and proteins and eating only the vegetables.
Halfway through her meal, her phone beeped, and she checked it, frowning slightly.
It was an alarm, her daily countdown reminder of her death. Though she didn't feel anything different from before, it made her doubt her doctor for a second.
Maybe there had been a little improvement since she started eating good food. Because if there was one thing, she didn't seem like someone who was dying. Elise nodded, agreeing in her head to reconfirm her death day again tomorrow.
Who knows, a miracle might happen.
