Earlier that morning, Kaila had followed her mother's instructions and ordered the maids to boil a large pot of water until it was scalding hot. She positioned them near the corridor Elise usually passed through, telling them to keep watch.
A short while later, one of the maids hurried to her with news, "Miss Elise is coming this way."
Kaila's eyes lit up with satisfaction. "When she walks past, pour the water on her," she commanded coldly. "Make sure it hits her face." How dare Elise, a lowly maid be more beautiful than she is.
She'll ruin Elise as much as she did her. Even though she had cut her hair, Elise is the reason for it. Framing Elise for it was the reason she had cut her hair.
The maids nodded nervously at her words and waited.
