Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 9

THE LANGUAGE OF A LOST KINGDOM

History leaves behind ruins.

Time leaves behind memories.

But Aurelia had left behind something far stranger.

A message.

One that had waited fifty years to be read.

---

Rain continued falling over Black Hollow Station.

Thunder echoed across the valley.

The storm seemed determined to remain.

As if it were watching.

Waiting.

Listening.

---

The four girls stood together for the first time.

Not as strangers.

Not anymore.

The vision they had witnessed moments earlier had changed everything.

The city.

The towers.

The throne.

The gates.

Aurelia.

All of them had seen the same thing.

Exactly the same thing.

And that was impossible.

---

The caretaker stood before them.

His dark coat soaked from the rain.

His face carried the weight of countless years.

The girls had questions.

Hundreds of questions.

But before anyone could speak—

The station trembled again.

---

A deep rumble echoed beneath the earth.

Ancient.

Powerful.

Alive.

---

The caretaker's expression changed immediately.

"Move away from the platform."

His voice was sharp.

Urgent.

---

Nobody moved.

Not because they were stubborn.

Because they were confused.

---

Another tremor shook the station.

This time cracks appeared across the old stone floor.

Long black lines spread beneath their feet.

Dust rose into the air.

Broken pieces of concrete collapsed inward.

---

The girls jumped backward.

---

Then something emerged.

---

Golden light.

---

Not from above.

From below.

---

The cracks widened.

The station floor split apart.

And hidden beneath decades of dust and stone—

Something ancient revealed itself.

---

A massive circular symbol.

Carved directly into the earth.

---

The girls stared.

Speechless.

---

The symbol stretched nearly thirty feet across.

Thousands of intricate carvings covered its surface.

Circles within circles.

Lines connecting strange shapes.

Symbols unlike anything they had ever seen.

Yet somehow—

They all recognized them.

---

Because they had seen them before.

---

Riva had drawn them.

Eva had copied them from the compass.

Aarvi had seen them on the box.

Parna had seen them in her dreams.

---

The same language.

The same markings.

The same mystery.

---

"The symbols..."

Eva whispered.

---

The caretaker nodded.

Slowly.

Almost reluctantly.

---

"The Language of Aurelia."

---

Silence followed.

---

No one laughed.

No one questioned him.

Because deep down—

They already knew he was telling the truth.

---

Lightning flashed overhead.

The ancient carvings glowed softly.

Silver.

Gold.

Green.

Red.

---

The same four colors.

Again.

Always the same four colors.

---

The caretaker stepped closer.

His eyes studied the symbol carefully.

As though he were seeing an old friend.

Or an old enemy.

---

"Aurelia recorded its history differently."

He said quietly.

"Not with books."

---

The girls listened.

---

"Not with scrolls."

---

Another flash of lightning.

---

"They recorded memories."

---

The words echoed through the station.

---

Riva frowned.

"What does that mean?"

---

The caretaker looked toward the center of the symbol.

---

"It means this isn't writing."

---

The glowing carvings brightened.

---

"It's a memory."

---

The moment he finished speaking—

The symbol activated.

---

Light exploded upward.

---

The storm vanished.

The station vanished.

The rain vanished.

---

And suddenly—

The girls stood inside Aurelia.

---

Not a vision.

Not a dream.

Not fragments.

---

The entire city.

Alive.

---

People filled the streets.

Merchants sold goods.

Children laughed beside fountains.

Golden banners fluttered above rooftops.

Music drifted through the air.

The scent of flowers filled every corner.

---

The city was breathtaking.

---

Parna stared in wonder.

Birds flew overhead.

Trees lined every road.

Nature flourished everywhere.

---

Eva looked toward the towers.

Their architecture seemed impossible.

Beautiful.

Elegant.

Ancient.

---

Aarvi felt tears forming.

The city felt familiar.

Too familiar.

---

And Riva—

Riva felt something else.

Recognition.

---

As though she had walked these streets before.

---

The feeling terrified her.

---

The girls slowly moved through the memory.

Invisible.

Unable to interact.

Only able to witness.

---

People passed directly through them.

Never noticing their presence.

---

Because this wasn't reality.

---

This was history.

---

A preserved memory.

---

The caretaker appeared beside them.

Older somehow.

Sadder somehow.

---

"The kingdom before its fall."

He whispered.

---

The city continued around them.

Peaceful.

Prosperous.

Perfect.

---

Then the memory shifted.

---

A massive palace appeared.

White stone.

Golden towers.

Silver gates.

---

At its highest balcony stood two figures.

A king.

And a queen.

---

The crowd below cheered.

---

A celebration.

A festival.

A day of joy.

---

Then four children appeared.

Standing beside the royal family.

---

The girls froze.

---

The children looked familiar.

Impossible.

Yet familiar.

---

One possessed Riva's eyes.

Another carried Parna's smile.

Another resembled Eva.

And the fourth looked exactly like Aarvi.

---

The girls stared.

Unable to breathe.

---

"No..."

Aarvi whispered.

---

The memory continued.

---

The children laughed.

Played.

Ran through palace gardens.

---

They looked happy.

Loved.

Safe.

---

The caretaker closed his eyes.

As if the sight hurt him.

---

Because he remembered.

---

Unlike the girls.

He remembered everything.

---

Then the memory shifted again.

Violently.

---

The sky darkened.

---

Thunder appeared.

---

The same storm.

---

The same storm from dreams.

---

The same storm following them since the beginning.

---

Screams echoed through the city.

---

People ran.

---

Buildings shook.

---

The celebration disappeared.

---

Fear replaced joy.

---

And then—

The shadow arrived.

---

Darkness spread across Aurelia.

Like ink spilling through water.

---

The girls couldn't see its face.

Only crimson eyes.

---

The same crimson eyes watching them from the beginning.

---

The same eyes hidden within dreams.

---

The same eyes the caretaker feared.

---

The memory became unstable.

---

Pieces shattered.

Fragments broke apart.

---

The city burned.

---

Towers collapsed.

---

People screamed.

---

The kingdom died.

---

Then a final image appeared.

---

The king.

The queen.

The caretaker.

And the four children.

---

Standing before a glowing gate.

---

The ancient gate.

---

The same one from every dream.

---

The king knelt before the caretaker.

His expression desperate.

Broken.

---

Though the girls couldn't hear the conversation—

They understood its meaning.

---

Protect them.

---

Hide them.

---

Save them.

---

The caretaker accepted.

---

The gate opened.

---

Light swallowed everything.

---

And the memory ended.

---

The girls found themselves back inside Black Hollow Station.

---

Rain poured from the sky once more.

Thunder echoed overhead.

---

Nobody spoke.

---

Nobody moved.

---

Because everything had changed.

---

The vision had answered one question.

And created a thousand more.

---

Aurelia was real.

The kingdom existed.

The symbols belonged to its language.

The caretaker knew the truth.

And somehow—

Somehow—

The four girls were connected to that lost world.

---

The ancient symbol beneath the station continued glowing.

---

Then something new appeared.

---

A single line of text emerged at its center.

---

The Language of Aurelia.

---

The girls couldn't read it.

At least not at first.

---

Then the symbols slowly transformed.

---

And every one of them understood the message.

---

The words echoed inside their minds.

---

"The Four Heirs Have Returned."

---

The station fell silent.

---

Even the storm seemed to stop breathing.

---

The caretaker closed his eyes.

Because the words confirmed what he had feared.

And what he had hoped.

---

The heirs had awakened.

The kingdom remembered them.

And somewhere beyond the darkness—

Someone else had read the same message.

---

Far away.

Inside the forgotten temple.

The man with crimson eyes smiled.

---

At last.

The game was truly beginning.
