Ayen used to be part of the Adrift Organization, a private company of guides. However, as he was the lowest of his entire batch, and it could even be said that he was barely considered an E-class Guide with a pathetic amount of energy that made him no different from a normal person, he was kicked out of the organization miserably. 

He didn’t have a choice but to apply to the Guides Association, which was managed by the government, and that only meant he was now both a civil servant and a member of the military. 

With a meager amount of energy, and as the lowest-level E-class Guide at that, no Esper had ever chosen him. No one with their right mind would really choose him. 

And five years later, at a certain forbidden zone, Ayen met Khal and Devion, two dangerous SS-class Espers. 

Two Espers that no guide could handle, and a Guide that no Esper had ever chosen. Two different situations and an unexpected discovery.

Ayen did not know why the two liked to pinch his chin. At first, he was unaccustomed to it, but he gradually got so used to it that sometimes he did not even notice it.


Khal returned a few minutes later, and they started to eat. They were in the wilderness; the only light source was coming from the fire.


The sky was pitch black; the moonlight was not very visible.


"What do you think? Can you travel in the wild?" Devion asked after they ate dinner as they sat around the campfire. "It's still the trial run; you can back out."


Traveling was not very popular in this era due to various reasons. Unless someone was wealthy enough to hire espers as escorts, the citizens never thought of making a trip to the distant lands.


This question was to sound out Ayen's decision again. While Khal and Devion could travel at this pace, Ayen might not stand it.
