The child bit his lips. Slowly, he nodded.
"What are you?" Khal firmly asked again. Devion and Ayen did not say a word, letting Khal control the conversation.
Ayen had already withdrawn his hand from the child's face and leaned on his chair. The child was not crying any longer, but his eyes and lashes were still wet from tears.
"A monster. I've become a monster." The child swallowed and fidgeted nervously, lips trembling. "But, I'm not, a bad kid. I won't, hurt anyone." The child wiped his eyes again. "Please, don't hurt, me."
The child was aware of his changes.
Khal chose not to respond immediately. He stared at the child with a thoughtful expression. After a while, he lifted his gaze to look at the two.
Devion was curious about the anomaly's origins, but he was not fixated on it either. However, Ayen showed a slight reprimand in his gaze, seemingly displeased that the child cried again.
