Lyvana's breath caught.
She didn't answer immediately.
Emily's eyes sharpened, her grip tightening slightly around the small bottle.
"Liv… don't do that. Don't go quiet on me."
Lyvana swallowed. Her fingers curled against the edge of the tub.
"…Yes."
Emily's eyes were wide with shock.
Lyvana's mind raced, trying to come up with an explanation.
For a second, Emily just stared.
Then—
"Wait… oh my God," she said, her voice rising. "It's Julian's, isn't it?"
Lyvana's silence was all the answer Emily needed.
"Oh, Liv... why didn't you tell me?"
Lyvana forced herself to sit up straighter, even as her chest tightened. "I found out today. At the hospital. That's why they stopped my scans."
Emily stared at her, searching Lyvana's face for any sign of a mistake or a joke. She found none.
"Oh my God," Emily whispered, her voice trembling. "Oh my God."
