Lyvana had her eyes closed pointing to the entrance.
A small, gray ball of fluff was sitting on the cashmere blanket.
It was a tiny rabbit with long, floppy ears and a pink nose that wouldn't stop twitching. It looked up at Julian with big, dark eyes for a second, then gave a quick wiggle and hopped out into the garden.
Julian let out a low, relieved chuckle.
Reaching out, he gently pulled Lyvana's hand away from her face.
"It's okay, baby. It's just a rabbit."
Lyvana opened one eye, then the other. She looked at the empty spot on the blanket where the soft fur had been just a moment ago.
A small, embarrassed smile tugged at her lips as she realized her monster was just a garden guest.
"Don't worry, am here to protect you from all the rabbits in the garden."
She playfully nudged him with her shoulder and laughed softly.
"You're ridiculous."
"And you're adorable when you're scared," he replied, pulling her closer and kissing her cheeks.
