The moment the car stopped, Mark turned sharply toward it.
The driver's door opened first and Julian stepped out.
Even in simple black clothes, he carried the same cold power that always seemed to follow him. It was hard not to feel intimidated in his presence.
Mark's expression hardened instantly.
Then the passenger door opened and Lyvana stepped out slowly.
"So it's true," Mark said. "You're really with him."
Lyvana lifted her chin. "Why are you here, Mark?"
He laughed bitterly. "That's all you have to say to me?"
"What else is there to say?" Isabel cut in before Lyvana could answer. "Mark was just leaving."
Mark ignored her completely. His eyes stayed locked on Lyvana.
"You disappeared overnight. Then suddenly you're coming back home with Blackwood?"
"We are not having this conversation here," Lyvana replied calmly.
"Perhaps you should just leave," Julian said cooly.
Mark's eyes snapped toward him.
"This doesn't concern you Blackwood."
