The First Fang laughed, her tail swinging with a rhythmic, appreciative force. "Visionary. Business-minded. Ethical. Sincere. Determined." A slow smile curved her lips. "I like strong women who stand for themselves. I didn't know such women existed among either humans or elves."
"There were, and there are, I believe," I replied simply.
"But all are bound by the chains of royalty or work for its sake," she noted. She leaned back, her golden eyes reflecting the fire. "Coming here with your one blade alone in the Wilds—even after an assassination attempt on you a few weeks ago—speaks volumes."
She stood up, signaling the end of the night's tension. "Very well. How about we hold another meeting in two days? You can return with proper paperwork."
"Sure thing," I said, matching her level of professionalism. "I don't want verbal promises either. I'll come with a contract for our next meeting."
