(At the Imperial Palace)
I get off the carriage with Grandpa, and Kael hops down from the driver's seat. As we walk through the sunlit courtyard toward the main entrance, I can't help but brag a little. "Lucian pretty much likes me. You guys saw that back there, right? He was actually listening to everything I said!"
"Yeah... we saw that, child... but we also noticed something else," Grandpa says, a highly skeptical look crossing his old face.
"What??"
"You previously accused my pupil of intentionally making physical contact with you," Grandpa points out, folding his arms. "But back there, you were the one continuously touching him!"
Kael nods in perfect, stoic agreement. "I knew My Lord was not guilty."
"Eh? Eh??? You two are distrusting me now?!" I stomp my foot, looking at them in utter betrayal. "I swear he is incredibly touchy-touchy when it's just the two of us! And just now, I wasn't being touchy, I was simply being appreciative of his hard work and honesty!"
