Chapter 151 - Ch 151: Four Wives, Twenty Kids, and a Fountain

Newt Scamander's obsession with magical creatures once again refreshed Garfield's understanding of the word magical.

There were simply too many strange beings in the wizarding world.

Over the years, Scamander Manor had been transformed into a vast, self-contained habitat, one that encompassed nearly every known magical creature on Earth, along with carefully reconstructed environments suited to each of them.

Creatures that had once teetered on the brink of extinction were now thriving under Newt's meticulous care, quietly rebuilding their populations.

From tropical jungles to frozen tundra.

From the depths of the ocean to scorching deserts.

From rolling hills into shadowed, mysterious caves.

Garfield and Dumbledore walked through it all in stunned silence.

At last, Dumbledore spoke, his voice filled with genuine admiration.

"Newt." He said, "Allowing you to manage magical creatures is truly one of the most correct decisions I have ever fought for in my life."

Garfield, meanwhile, was staring at a wild boar with wings.

He pointed at it thoughtfully. "…Is that delicious?"

The winged boar squealed in terror and flapped away in a panic.

Newt looked helpless.

"Garfield, that's a Dulwich Flying Boar. It's a rare species. Please don't scare it, some of them are very timid."

Garfield blinked. "What's its name?"

"…Dulwich."

Garfield rubbed his chin.

Sounds like the name of a pig in some competitive game, he thought. Maybe I've been away from those chicken-dinner streams for too long.

Yes.

That must be it.

Leaving behind the traumatized flying boar, the three of them moved on to another section of the habitat, the residence of the Niffler family.

What stood before them was a massive, five-story duplex manor with an enormous courtyard.

At the entrance, Niffler lounged lazily on a deck chair beside a small decorative fountain, while his wives and daughters-in-law watched over a crowd of energetic children.

Life was… extremely comfortable.

One really couldn't apply human moral standards to magical creatures' reproduction habits.

Even though Garfield felt he had eaten quite a lot of metaphorical 'dog food' today, this didn't count.

"Niffler." Garfield called.

Niffler raised his head. "Boss! Welcome to our home!"

Newt, of course, couldn't understand a word. Garfield, translated as Niffler, proudly dragged his family over to make introductions.

Looking at the more than twenty children and four or five wives, Garfield felt sincere admiration.

This guy has truly made it in life.

After all, Niffler had crossed the Atlantic, gone to New York, outperformed countless wizards and magical creatures, faced Grindelwald head-on, and retreated completely unscathed.

He had even helped retrieve the Blood Pact artifact, something most top-tier wizards wouldn't dare to imagine attempting.

He had visited the island nation with Garfield, witnessed a warehouse full of gold, and indirectly altered the fate of people who would one day be oppressed there.

And most importantly…

His boss was me.

Garfield Pendragon.

Legendary super beast of the universe. Great Devourer.

After spending some time chatting, Garfield promised Niffler that he'd take him along the next time he went on a big operation.

Only then did they leave the magical creature habitats behind.

That night, Garfield stayed at Scamander Manor.

The next morning, he set off early and returned to his shop. He hadn't been away for more than two days, yet his master had already summoned him urgently.

When Garfield arrived at Kamar-Taj, he saw the Ancient One seated calmly on his throne.

Before him rested a golden bracelet engraved with a scorpion motif.

Garfield's ears twitched.

…That can't be good.
