Selling himself.
Collector Taneleer Tivan was much like the Grandmaster.
Both were mentally unstable individuals.
"Collector Taneleer Tivan, I am not here to sell myself. On the contrary, I need some things. I wonder if you have any here."
As a collector, Taneleer Tivan refused to sell his collection.
This was a common trait among collectors in their line of work.
"No, I will not sell my collection," Collector Taneleer Tivan bluntly refused Garfield, continuing to stare at him with his twisted gaze. "Then, esteemed guest, Flerkens are extremely rare in the universe, and you are so special."
"Collector Taneleer Tivan, do not look at me like that."
Garfield handed him a list of missing items. "I need these things. As for payment, I can give you some Uru metal."
Taneleer Tivan had initially wanted to refuse the deal, but the mention of Uru metal tempted him.
Although he was not short of money, rare metals held inherent value and were easier to circulate and trade.
"How about it, Taneleer Tivan. You must have some Uru metal already, but having more is always good. Who knows, one day you might need it to trade for your favorite collectibles. By the way, I can give you a heads up. The Groot clan is going to be wiped out."
The Groot clan wiped out.
Collector Taneleer Tivan found it unbelievable.
The Groot race was notoriously volatile and warlike, much like the Chitauri and the Kree, and sometimes even more so.
They were a vast empire.
Wiped out.
Could it be that these guys had offended someone they should not have.
In the universe, it seemed like only Thanos was causing trouble everywhere, but in reality, there were many beings far more powerful than Thanos.
The reason they were not famous was simply because they did not commit public massacres like Thanos did.
Even when they did, they mostly wiped out entire populations with very few survivors.
"If what you are saying is true, I do need to find a specimen beforehand, but these guys are a bit irritable," Collector Taneleer Tivan muttered to himself in a language Garfield could not understand.
Perhaps it was his native tongue.
After a while, Collector Taneleer Tivan came to his senses and continued speaking to Garfield. "Thank you for the information, sir. Now we will complete this transaction. Is there anything else you need."
Garfield glanced at the collector's display case.
There were no Space Dogs or Howard the Ducks yet.
The collection here was rare, but it was not of much use to Garfield.
Wait a moment.
The collector claimed to have the most complete and abundant collection in the entire universe.
There should be some special items here, like purebred Flerkens.
"Tivan, do you have any Flerkens here."
Flerkens were among the most dangerous beasts in the natural order of the universe.
Taneleer Tivan had experienced a devastating disaster caused by one a few years ago.
Another reason the collection of the renowned collector Taneleer Tivan was so well preserved was that he knew how to avoid risks.
Flerkens are vengeful.
If you dare enslave one, the consequences can be severe if it seeks revenge.
Furthermore, Flerkens can teleport, making it extremely difficult to capture and trap them against their will.
As for killing them, do not be fooled by their size.
Their skin is as tough as rare cosmic metals.
Otherwise, they would not be so famous.
And as for their internal organs being a weakness.
Forget it.
Their tentacles can grab even a spaceship and prevent it from escaping.
"Sorry, no. I do not have any Flerkens here."
Taneleer Tivan knew Garfield was also a Flerken and did not want to be targeted.
While he was not incapable of defeating one, he did not want to be enemies with a ferocious beast that could appear at any time.
"Really not."
Garfield did not believe Taneleer Tivan would be so honest.
Perhaps feeling guilty under Garfield's gaze, or afraid that Garfield might destroy his collection, Taneleer Tivan hesitated and stammered for a while before finally saying, "There used to be one. You know, Flerkens can teleport, and they eat a lot and have no dietary restrictions. These are all rare items I have, so I gave up on keeping one a long time ago."
"Really."
"Really."
"I will trust you for now. So how much Uru metal do you need."
The collector thought for a moment and gestured, indicating roughly one cubic meter.
Garfield thought for a moment and shook his head. "Too much, brother. Uru metal is not that hard to get even in the eyes of the strong, and these materials are not worth that much."
Garfield was not stupid.
He was not going to be foolish enough to be ripped off for no reason.
The collector smiled and pointed to himself. "I am the collector Taneleer Tivan. What I can offer is naturally not ordinary. Besides, if I send a message to some people who have the goods, they will probably be out of stock in no time."
This guy was actually threatening him.
Garfield was not easily intimidated.
He lowered his head, suppressing his temper, and asked the smug collector Taneleer Tivan in front of him, "Are you serious, collector Taneleer Tivan."
Although he felt something was amiss, Taneleer Tivan still did not use his prophetic powers to see the consequences of angering Garfield.
After all, he, Taneleer Tivan, was not someone to be trifled with.
"Since you cannot afford it, then forget it. Oh, and by the way, if you ever die, remember to let me know."
Damnation.
He had been underestimated after all.
It seemed that if he did not show his power, Collector Taneleer Tivan would really treat him like a common greedy creature.
Spreading out his paws, Garfield pulled his Cat Hammer from his pocket.
The moment the Cat Hammer appeared, the Void was enveloped by a massive, all destroying power of lightning.
Under the effect of the Cat Hammer, black lightning enveloped Garfield, and a set of divine armor appeared on his body.
The black lightning around him circled through the Collector's lair.
Seeing the unusual situation outside, the residents of the Void, like ants fleeing a natural disaster, quickly hid in their prepared safe houses in fear.
The merchants, adventurers, and raiders who came to trade huddled in the tavern, staring at the black lightning outside and trembling with fear.
At this moment, they saw how close death was to them.
Collector Taneleer Tivan stretched out his arm in front of him, sensing a familiar trace of deathly power within Garfield's thunderous force.
It seemed he had gone too far.
Garfield's eyes flashed with lightning as he aimed his hammer at Collector Taneleer Tivan. "I will show you what it means to win people over with virtue."
