Chapter 97 - Chapter 98: Snake Bite Fist

Ronin shook his head. This ability, heavily skewed towards Transmutation, was something he could copy with his Sharingan, but it wasn't suitable for his own use. Still, it could be considered a welcome addition to his arsenal of knowledge.

With that thought, Ronin's eyes shifted into the Mangekyō Sharingan state.

When he used it on Isley before, the range of imprisonment was too large. This time, Ronin planned to use this opponent to test if he could shrink the effect of Amenotokotachi—specifically, to see if he could imprison only a part of the target's body.

The power of the left eye's Mangekyō erupted instantly. In that split second, the space occupied by the hook-nosed man's extended arm was completely frozen!

No matter how much the man tried to channel his aura, his arm went limp.

And no matter how much force he applied, his arm remained immovable, as if it had been suddenly frozen in mid-air.

Ronin took a step forward. He didn't attack the frozen space itself, because if any part of his body entered that imprisoned zone, it would also be frozen!

But he didn't need to enter that small pocket of space. Attacking the main body of the hook-nosed man, whose range of movement was now restricted, was more than enough!

Unless the man made a snap decision to sever his own arm like a gecko shedding its tail, Ronin's attack would land easily.

The hook-nosed man realized this too!

This ability is terrifyingly weird!

"I surrender!"

The man made his decision instantly. He couldn't bear to lose his arm, and he certainly didn't want to die, so he shouted his surrender.

But he shouted too late.

By the time the words left his mouth, Ronin's fist had already bypassed his defenses and slammed heavily into his chest.

His arm might be able to turn boneless, but what about his torso?

Crack!

With the sickening sound of breaking bone, Ronin's fist punched straight through the man's sternum!

Blood spilled from his mouth. The hook-nosed man looked down at his chest in disbelief. "You... I—Surr... Gurgle—"

His lungs were pierced. Blood flooded his trachea, choking him before he could even utter his last words.

Ronin yanked his fist back and retreated a safe distance, simultaneously deactivating Amenotokotachi.

Without the support of his anchored arm, the hook-nosed man staggered backward, eyes filled with unwillingness, before stepping into empty air and tumbling off the tank.

Ronin had already turned his attention to the tank's hatch.

As for the surrender? He acted like he never heard it. Who told the guy to shout so slowly?

He grabbed the hatch. The soldiers below finally reacted and aimed their guns at him.

But it was too late. With a burst of immense strength, Ronin ripped the hatch clean off. Gunshots rang out a second later, but Ronin had already tossed the hatch aside and leaped inside the tank.

Bullets pinged harmlessly off the thick armor plating.

Inside the tank, Ronin simply waved his hand, deflecting the incoming bullets back at their source, piercing the two Cleaning Squad members inside.

It was a pity Ronin didn't know how to drive a tank; otherwise, he wouldn't mind using this steel beast to crush the nearby enemies.

As for why he didn't fire the main gun? Because he had already bent the barrel!

The members of the Meteor City Cleaning Squad weren't fearless suicide soldiers. Seeing Ronin emerge from the tank unharmed, they all took a step back.

The gunfire stopped. They realized bullets couldn't hurt him at all.

This guy was a monster!

The last monster who ignored bullets like this was Uvogin, a famous member of the Phantom Troupe.

That man was listed as a top-level threat by the Council of Elders.

Now another monster like that had appeared, and they were just small fry. They couldn't handle this. So, when Ronin took a step forward, the surrounding squad members scattered like birds.

Rabble.

That word popped directly into Ronin's mind.

Meanwhile, Shizuku stood there holding her vacuum cleaner, staring blankly at Ronin standing atop the tank like a hero.

In that moment, she felt like she saw a light radiating from him.

Ronin, right? That's his name.

Shizuku reminded herself. Blinky vanished from her hands. If it's Ronin, he should be able to help me find Spence!

The street was empty now, save for some cars blocking the way. The Cleaning Squad had fled, and even the onlookers in the distance had hurriedly dispersed.

" The Council won't just let this go," Shizuku stepped forward to warn him.

"So, where is Spence?" Ronin ignored the warning and asked instead.

If Shizuku could provide Spence's location, things would be much simpler. If not... Ronin glanced toward the car in the alley. He could see Damian slowly straightening up in the driver's seat.

Even through the glass, Ronin could see the look of shock on Damian's face.

"He's probably at his estate," Shizuku gave a precise location. "With just me, the chances weren't very high."

This girl, who seemed a bit spacey, was actually quite detail-oriented.

Ronin nodded. "With me and my friends, it should be enough. Let's get out of here first."

Shizuku turned to look at the house she had lived in for so long. "This place probably won't survive. Once we leave, it won't be long before someone tries to use the same method you did to force me out."

"What do you want to do?" Ronin had an idea.

"Can you help me move the whole house? With your strength, you should be able to do it, right?" Shizuku turned to him with anticipation, her eyes bright behind her glasses. She looked like a puppy begging for a treat.

It made it impossible to refuse.

"I'll try." Ronin didn't make any promises.

To lift the entire house, the key wasn't raw strength, but rather how to use Shu to wrap his aura around the foundation.

Only then would it be possible to lift it.

Otherwise, no matter where he grabbed, the structure wouldn't hold together as a single unit. He would just tear it apart and destroy the clinic completely.

But what if he used Amenotokotachi?

If he froze the space occupied by the entire clinic, then grabbing it would be like grabbing a single, solid object.

However, the consumption for such a large-scale Amenotokotachi would be incomparable to just freezing an arm.

After weighing the options between consuming aura and consuming pupil power, Ronin chose the former.

Until he achieved the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, he shouldn't use the Mangekyō too recklessly. If he caused irreversible damage, he could only repair it by fusing with more Scarlet Eyes.

And right now, he only had two spare pairs of Scarlet Eyes left.

He was saving those intentionally. After discovering that fusing with the eyes not only increased his pupil power but also repaired the eye fatigue from using the Mangekyō, he had kept them as a reserve.
