Chapter 30 - CHAPTER 28

Seeing that Raj was really angry, Sandy and Katherine had no choice but to leave.

"If they had been even one step later, I would have thrown them out myself," Penny said angrily.

"Oh, honey, don't be angry with them. They're not worth it," Raj said quickly, trying to comfort her.

"Honey, what do you think? Do you also think I'm not good enough for you?" Penny looked at Raj and asked, her voice tinged with vulnerability.

"How could you even think that?" Raj waved his hands and smiled warmly. "You are beautiful, smart, kind, eloquent, and you have first-rate emotional intelligence. When I'm with you, I don't know how many people envy me. How could I possibly think less of you?"

"You really think so?" Penny asked, still concerned.

"Of course I do," Raj nodded earnestly. "If you don't believe me, I can swear to God. You know we Indians take our faith seriously." "

Well, thank you, honey." Seeing that he was willing to swear to the gods, Penny immediately nodded in satisfaction, her mood lifting.

At this time, a person dressed as the Flash sneaked into Raj's party, weaving through the crowd of costumed guests.

"Hey, Leonard!" He came up to Leonard and said hello.

"Hey, Sheldon, why did you come? Didn't you say you couldn't make it?" Leonard glanced at him and asked in surprise.

"I'm here to save our friendship," Sheldon explained matter-of-factly.

"Save?" Leonard was confused.

"This is...?" the girl who had been chatting with him, dressed as an elf with pointed ears and a flowing green costume, looked at Sheldon curiously.

"He's my roommate, Sheldon," Leonard quickly explained.

"Sheldon, this is Mackenzie, you can call her Mickey. She's a sophomore in the Physics Department at Caltech."

"Sheldon Cooper?!" Mickey looked at Sheldon in surprise, her eyes widening with recognition. "I've read your papers. Especially the one on how to obtain the grand unified theory of linear network polymers. Excuse me, how did you discover that a three-dimensional linear network can form a graph and cover fermions and quantitative bosons at the same time?"

"Wow, a miracle! A smart Labrador!" Sheldon said with equal surprise. "But I think you should stop reading. Women aren't suitable for being scientists. They're better suited for going home to do laundry and take care of children."

"Shut up, Sheldon," Leonard's face darkened, and he couldn't help but scold his roommate.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Hearing what he said, Mickey widened her eyes in anger.

"Look, I praised you for being smart just now, but now you can't even understand what I'm saying," Sheldon ignored Leonard and instead continued with regret.

"Your comprehension skills are so poor, and you can't concentrate. I think your future is limited. At most, you'll be a physics teacher in the future, teaching fifth-grade elementary school students how to use paper shells to make simulated volcanoes. It's a cruel joke if anyone tells you that you'll be good at physics one day. And if you dare to believe it, you're doing yourself a disservice."

"Enough! I admired you very much, but I didn't expect you to speak so viciously and be so sexist," Mickey looked at Sheldon with anger and disappointment.

"I don't want to communicate with you anymore. Goodbye!" After finishing, she turned and stormed out of the party.

"Mickey, Mickey!" Leonard hurriedly chased after her, but in the end he failed to catch up, and watched helplessly as the elevator doors closed in front of him.

"Leonard, since your girlfriend has already left, let's go home together," Sheldon said, having followed them to the elevator entrance, smiling at Leonard as if nothing had happened.

"What the hell are you doing? You deliberately chased her off, didn't you?" Leonard looked at Sheldon angrily, his face flushed with frustration.

Mickey was cute, smart, and very interested in physics. There were so many topics to discuss between them, and their conversation was highly engaging and thought-provoking. Leonard was already fantasizing about the two of them dating, getting married, having children, and spending their lives together.

But when Sheldon arrived, he ruined all of Leonard's fantasies and drove him absolutely mad with anger.

"You actually saw it," Sheldon didn't deny it, and nodded matter-of-factly.

Seeing that Sheldon had deliberately antagonized his date, Leonard suddenly erupted in rage, wishing he could bang his head against the wall to dispel his fury.

"You are simply unreasonable!" he yelled at Sheldon angrily.

"Okay, Leonard, calm down. It's already half past nine. We should go home," Sheldon said, taking out a pocket watch from his vest and checking the time with his characteristic precision.

"I'll go home by myself. I'm not taking you," Leonard refused curtly, then turned and walked down the stairs.

"You can't do this! We have a roommate agreement!" Sheldon yelled after him. "I can't take the bus. I don't wear bus pants!"

But Leonard had already made up his mind and left without waiting for a response, his footsteps echoing his determination.

The next day at work on Monday, Raj and Howard met in the university cafeteria.

Raj saw Howard's face full of smugness and constant smiles, so he immediately knew that his friend had enjoyed success with women that night. "Howard, congratulations," he said knowingly.

"Thank you," Howard said proudly, unable to contain his satisfaction. "To tell you the truth, yesterday I really had a great time."

"Excellent," Raj said, stretching out his thumb in approval.

"Captain Jack's charm is really incredible. I just imitated him a little bit, and she practically threw herself into my arms," Howard boasted, his chest puffing out slightly. "I also want to thank you. Fortunately, you reminded me about the costume choice, otherwise I would have gone as Robin Hood. I don't think he's nearly as popular as Captain Jack."

"Well, you're welcome. We're all friends," Raj waved his hand modestly and smiled. "By the way, what was Leonard's result? How did things go with Mickey?"

"I heard it didn't go very well. It seems that Sheldon completely messed up his date," Howard explained, briefly recounting what had happened that night at the party.

Raj couldn't help shaking his head after listening to the story.

In his opinion, Sheldon had really gone too far this time. As a fellow nerd, Leonard's romantic journey had never been smooth. After finally meeting someone who genuinely connected with him, Sheldon had managed to chase her away in anger.

If I were Leonard, Raj thought to himself, Sheldon would have been beaten up long ago, and I would have moved to another apartment immediately.

At that moment, Leonard walked into the cafeteria carrying his lunch tray, then sat down at Raj and Howard's table with a visible air of dejection.

This made Raj slightly taken aback. Before this incident, Leonard had always sat with Sheldon during lunch. Now that they were separated, it was clear that Leonard was genuinely furious.

Just as Raj was about to offer some words of comfort to Leonard, Sheldon suddenly appeared at their table, carrying a large leather bag in his hand.

"Leonard," he called softly, almost tentatively.

"Go away," Leonard scolded in a low voice, without even looking up at Sheldon. His anger was still palpable.

"Leonard, are you still angry with me?" Sheldon continued to ask, seemingly oblivious to the obvious answer.

"What do you think?" Leonard raised his head and looked at him with barely contained fury.

"I think you're not angry anymore, are you?" Sheldon said, nodding his head repeatedly in an exaggerated manner as he spoke.

"What are you doing?" Howard asked curiously, watching Sheldon's bizarre head-bobbing behavior.

"I'm using neurolinguistic programming techniques to modify Leonard's thought patterns and emotional state," Sheldon explained in his typical pedantic manner.

"Get out of here!" Leonard said angrily when he heard this manipulative attempt.

"Well, whether you forgive me or not, I still want to give you this gift," Sheldon said, opening the leather bag with deliberate ceremony.

"Sheldon, no matter what gift you give me, it can't make me forgive you," Leonard said firmly, his voice unwavering.

"Yes, but I still have to give it to you. It's important," Sheldon replied, reaching into the bag and pulling out a sofa cushion.

Leonard was completely taken aback when he saw it, his expression shifting from anger to confusion.
