"For the Emperor!"
Little Alpaca swung the greatsword in her hand.
Shouting, she blocked the battle-axe swung down by the Orc Chieftain.
The Orc Chieftain was nearly four meters tall, with a burly physique and thick muscles that looked as if they could power a train.
The battle-axe in his hand was even more exaggerated; though crude, it was enormous.
When swung, the air produced a series of ear-piercing explosive sounds.
Little Alpaca's figure appeared slightly slender.
She maintained the physique of a normal fitness woman; although she had muscles, they were not exaggerated, and even when wearing armor, she did not appear bulky.
But her strength was incredibly exaggerated; even when facing an Orc Chieftain, she could fight him back and forth.
"Such exaggerated strength!"
Commissar Brock, who was carrying out the beheading tactic with her, widened his eyes at this sight.
He was also someone who had walked through mountains of corpses and seas of blood.
Naturally, he knew how exaggerated the combat power of these Orks was.
The Orc Chieftain was an elite among them.
Now, a Ecclesiarchy Sister could fight such a huge fellow back and forth!
If this were spoken of, no one would dare to believe it.
Clang!
Sword and axe collided, with incessant clanging sounds.
After Little Alpaca shouted the Emperor's name once more, she forcefully pushed aside the Orc Chieftain's battle-axe.
Then, she leaped up, her sword rising and falling, severing the Orc Chieftain's head.
The massive headless body twitched for a moment before collapsing with a crash.
It must be known that this Orc Chieftain was currently the largest leader of the Orks, yet he was now slain.
The Orks who were still fighting cried out in alarm and then turned to flee.
Their Orc boss was dead, and their morale had collapsed.
The war horn sounded at this moment.
The Imperial forces remaining in the Hive City took the opportunity to launch a counter-attack, slaughtering the Orks whose morale had collapsed.
The Players also shouted various slogans, slaughtering those Orks, routing them completely.
After several hours, the Orks' offensive completely collapsed.
The Imperium achieved a great victory, pursuing the remaining Orks in one go, determined to completely eliminate them.
"Thank you for your help." Colonel Nan Lu expressed his sincere gratitude to Little Alpaca and the others.
He had not expected the reinforcements this time to be so effective.
First, they helped him rebut the Kashajin squad who came to collect taxes.
Then, they helped repel the Orks.
And they executed the beheading tactic.
In just two or three days, they had routed the arrogant Orcs.
"Compared to other Players, my speed is considered slow."
Little Alpaca was not happy, because the Emperor Niuma Battle Group and the Hammer and Sickle Battle Group were frantically grinding quests.
Their efficiency was much faster than hers.
Especially that Warhammer succubus.
Damn it, don't they need to rest?
They finish a global-level battle in one day!
Someone on Zhihu said that fifty Astartes could conquer a planet in a day.
That was just netizens making a joke.
But you damned Emperor's Cannon Fodder really are taking a planet a day.
Little Alpaca was very depressed; her Battle Rose ranking was being pushed down bit by bit by those 'roll kings'.
In a while, she feared she would be out of the top twenty.
"The main threat posed by the Orcs has been removed, and our mission here is considered complete. Sign here; I need to go support the next world."
Little Alpaca took out a data slate.
Inside was the relevant mission to support the Demi-ton II World.
"Alright." Colonel Nan Lu had no unnecessary words; he immediately signed it with his biological seal.
After Little Alpaca obtained the signature, she uploaded the mission.
Soon after, she received a new mission to support another world being harassed by Chaos Gods traitors.
"Mission complete, we should go too. Don't worry, I will speak to the Internal Affairs Department. The Demi-ton II World only stopped paying taxes because it was invaded."
Little Alpaca put away the data slate and comforted Colonel Nan Lu a few more times.
The eyes of this battle-hardened Imperial soldier immediately turned red.
Firstly, because of gratitude.
The God Chosen actually remembered the tithe matter.
And were even prepared to go themselves to explain for them.
Since the Demi-ton II World was invaded, it had been in an awkward position, neither father nor mother caring for it.
No reinforcements, and those Chaos in the Internal Affairs Department still wanted to collect taxes.
Now, the God Chosen had come, not only helping them solve the Orks but also helping them solve the tithe.
Secondly, it was respect. These God Chosen were truly too loyal. They had just finished this battle and were immediately rushing to the next battlefield.
The God Chosen's loyalty to the Emperor was unmatched.
Colonel Nan Lu was about to express his thanks when Little Alpaca waved her hand, "No need for thanks. Time is tight and the mission is heavy, so we'll be going first."
Little Alpaca called the battle barge, asking the servants on standby to send a transport shuttle down.
However, before the transport shuttle came down, she received a message.
The Punishment Fleet of the Internal Affairs Department had arrived.
And it bore the mark of the Inquisition.
Evidently, the refusal to pay the tithe had angered those good-for-nothings in the Internal Affairs Department.
They had even dragged the Inquisition into it.
The Punishment Fleet quickly arrived in orbit around the Demi-ton II World.
They also locked onto the battle barge of Little Alpaca and the other Players.
Ordering them to surrender immediately, or they would open fire.
"How about you take me with you? As long as I voluntarily confess, they shouldn't make things too difficult for you." Colonel Nan Lu, knowing this, volunteered and decided to take responsibility for the matter.
"I'll also go and plead for you." Commissar Brock also stepped forward, "This is not a malicious refusal to pay, but due to uncontrollable factors."
"This has nothing to do with you." Little Alpaca shook her head in refusal, then boarded the transport shuttle and headed for the Punishment Fleet.
The transport shuttle was very fast.
A few minutes later, it arrived at the flagship of the Punishment Fleet.
After announcing her identity,
The transport shuttle successfully landed on the flagship of the Punishment Fleet, in the hangar bay.
"God Chosen."
Seeing Little Alpaca walk out of the cockpit,
Inquisitor Glyde, who was in charge of this punitive mission, immediately widened his eyes.
He quickly scurried to Little Alpaca, performing an aquila salute to her.
"God Chosen, I am Junior Inquisitor Glyde. It is an honor to meet you here."
The Internal Affairs Department official responsible for collecting weapons and ammunition did not know about the God Chosen, but as a member of the Inquisition, he did.
After all, throughout the entire Imperium, they were the most well-informed.
"You intend to annihilate me as a traitor?"
Little Alpaca looked at the Inquisitor before her, not showing much goodwill.
"The God Chosen represents the will of the Emperor. If you are traitors, then wouldn't the entire Imperium be full of traitors?"
"This matter must be a misunderstanding. Please, God Chosen, do not take it to heart."
"Misunderstanding?" Little Alpaca shook her head, "I don't think it's a misunderstanding. While taxation is an obligation every Imperial world should fulfill, the Imperium also has the obligation to protect these worlds and their innocent citizens."
"Ignoring the objective conditions of each planet and forcibly levying taxes, while seemingly an act of loyalty, is in fact a shameful betrayal."
"To be in a position of power and not to govern. To turn a blind eye to a precarious world that needs support, and instead to be aggressive and send people to collect taxes. If I hadn't been here, I fear the inhabitants of this planet would have already been slaughtered."
"The Internal Affairs Department also considers the greater good." Glyde tried to say something to alleviate the anger of the God Chosen before him.
"The greater good, whose greater good?" Little Alpaca did not intend to let it end like this.
The people killed by Chaos were still fewer than those killed by those incompetent good-for-nothings.
Forcing a world deeply embroiled in war to pay taxes, what is that if not betrayal?
"I understand." Glyde sighed inwardly, mourning for those foolish officials who never left their offices.
They used to always pressure people with the 'greater good' and 'power', and now it was their turn.
"I will follow up on this matter until there is a satisfactory answer," Little Alpaca said.
"You will definitely be satisfied with the outcome," Glyde promised.
Days later,
AN06.01 Stock World,
The Punishment Fleet descended.
Inquisitor Glyde waved his hand, issuing orders to his stormtrooper squad.
"Liquidate the officials in this area and see if they have committed dereliction of duty by ignoring the suffering of the taxed world."
The Inquisition's efficiency was very high.
Over a dozen officials were dragged out.
Upon verification, these officials were all using outdated data to calculate taxes.
Leading to some prosperous worlds not having to pay taxes.
While those poor worlds were completely plundered.
People starving to death was considered a minor consequence.
Many of these worlds were forced into rebellion.
And were suppressed several times by Imperial forces.
Killing so many that blood flowed like rivers and bones littered the fields.
Glyde was stunned.
These bureaucrats, with a few documents, had caused more deaths than Chaos Gods traitors.
"I have dedicated sixty years to the Imperium! How dare you arrest me!"
"I want to see a higher-ranking officer! I want to appeal!"
An old man in a tax collector's robe shrieked hysterically.
But no one responded to him; instead, they coldly gagged him.
These officials would be taken back for interrogation to see if they had colluded with the Chaos Gods.
Meanwhile, Alex, on the other side of the galaxy,
Soon saw the report submitted from the Demi-ton system.
He praised Little Alpaca's actions, then instructed Cortana to give this young Player some rewards.
Encouraging her to keep up the good work, to support those worlds, and also to help those worlds solve some fundamental problems.
"We need to encourage the Players not to blindly rush for speed, but to proceed steadily. Doing missions is not just about getting rewards; it's also about seizing the opportunity to change those awful things."
"It's been a long time since a major version update. Let's take this opportunity to apply this patch."
Alex muttered to himself.
After the 6.0 version update, Cortana had implemented some patch updates, perfecting level restrictions and reward exchanges.
Now, a number of problems and new technologies had accumulated.
It was time to release a new version to solve these problems and promote new technologies.
"Master, are you going to release version 7.0?"
Cortana appeared beside Alex, her face filled with curiosity.
