Daily Prayer: The devout shall offer everything to the Emperor, including life and soul.
Foreword:
Since the chief traitor, the Despoiler, Ezekyle Abaddon, destroyed the Cadia Fortress, countless Imperial worlds have sent out pleas for help, hoping the Imperium of Man could extend aid and rescue them from despair and suffering.
However, sectors like Nafilem and Nephilim remained eerily silent, with no panicked screams or desperate calls for aid.
This unusual reaction caught the attention of the Inquisition's High Council in the Western Galaxy.
The first to investigate was Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer of the Holy Hammer Conclave.
He led a well-trained exorcist unit into the silent zone. When they reached the edge of the Nephilim Sector, they encountered fleeing refugees.
According to their descriptions, multiple worlds had experienced rebellions. They were not seduced by a Chaos God nor lured by xenos; instead, they wished to escape their own worlds.
Even the alien xenos hidden among the stars were fleeing. For this, they did not hesitate to wage war against the Imperium of Man, just to withdraw faster.
Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer met a Astropath, who warned him, proclaiming that a suffocating veil would turn starlight into darkness.
Out of duty to the Emperor, Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer continued to delve deeper into the silent domain.
The accompanying navigator soon discovered an anomaly.
The Warp in the Nephilim Sector was unusually calm; the maddening Warp tides within the Nephilim Sector were as still as glass.
There were no demonic screams, no wails of the dead; everything was so calm, giving the illusion that the Chaos storm raging across the entire Warp did not exist.
However, as time passed, Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer delved deeper.
Astropath communications began to be interfered with, and Warp engines frequently malfunctioned, preventing faster-than-light travel.
More importantly, his accompanying personnel began to feel monitored and anxious, becoming listless and uneasy.
The crew members were overcome by fatigue, weakness, and despair, refusing to speak or move.
The Psyker and navigators on board became weak and unable to use the power of the Warp.
This situation had also occurred in the missing Kalides Combat Group.
Planets that should have contained a large number of colonists were eerily empty.
Whether power plants, agricultural complexes, spaceports, mining sites, or military fortresses, all were deserted, mysteriously vanished.
In the silent domain, the warship Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer was on detected mysterious energy signals.
He followed the energy signals to the planet Rydas. When he officially entered the surface for exploration, he photographed the planet's surface from orbit.
Black colossal obelisks stood on the surface, continuously emitting a certain fluctuation.
The closer they got to these obelisks, the more tormented the Psyker became, with several unable to bear the torment and choosing to commit suicide by gunshot.
Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer went to the surface to investigate.
Seven Terra days later, Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer was declared out of contact.
Thirty Terra days later, the Battle Barge Eternal Fire, carrying Inquisitor Scarus of the Order of the Holy Hammer, lost contact. No matter how many calls were made, there was no response, and it was officially listed as a missing vessel.
By decision of the Imperium of Man's Inquisition High Council, Inquisitor Dragus was assigned to investigate the incident.
Mission 1:
Lead the Emperor's God Chosen to the world of Rydas, search for the missing Inquisitor, and analyze the material composition of the black obelisks and the purpose of their special energy fluctuations.
Mission 2:
Locate the missing Kalides Combat Group and ascertain the fate of Combat Group Commander Maron.
May your investigation be swift and successful.
Emperor Protects!
Terra High Inquisition.
......
Battle Barge Victorious Dawn.
Inquisitor Drax suddenly woke up, gasping for breath.
He had another terrible nightmare.
A pitch-black night shrouded the stars, and black holes appeared above every world, sucking away people's souls, leaving only their walking dead bodies.
As a powerful Psyker, Drax knew that human souls were highly bound to the Warp.
When dreams appear continuously and show a discoverable pattern, it is a kind of enlightenment and guidance given by one's own spirituality.
Some demons use this to lure mortals astray,
But strong-willed Psyker can also use this to glimpse future destiny.
Dragus got up and paced back and forth, contemplating the dream he just had, trying to find some clues.
But his thoughts were chaotic, and he couldn't figure out what was going on.
"Sir, we are about to enter the Nephilim Sector."
The captain's voice came through the comms, "But something is very wrong; you need to come see."
"I'll be right there."
Dragus summoned his servant to help him put on his power armor.
Once everything was ready, he picked up his weapon and headed to the Bridge.
"I'm going to strangle you."
"In the Emperor's name, be smited, demon."
"Khorne dares not face me. Is it a king avoiding a king, or is he shying away from my prowess!"
As soon as he entered the Bridge, Dragus saw the God Chosen in an uproar.
They belonged to the Combat Roses Battle Group and were assigned to accompany him on this investigation.
If it were anyone else, Dragus would have reprimanded them long ago,
And even delivered severe punishment.
But facing the God Chosen, he chose to ignore it.
Can't afford to provoke them, truly can't. They can really summon the Emperor and borrow his great power.
Dragus walked over to the captain, "What happened?"
"The Warp engine's power has decreased; the suppression of the Warp in this area is too strong," the captain said.
"How far is it to the destination?" Dragus asked.
"Originally estimated to be a three-day journey, it is now estimated to take a week, and the risk is very high," the captain said with a troubled expression.
"No matter the cost, we must reach the world of Rydas," Dragus's attitude was firm.
Facing the request of a High Inquisitor, even if the captain was very reluctant, he had no choice but to comply.
The investigation fleet, led by the Battle Barge Victorious Dawn, entered the silent zone.
Navigators, Astropaths, and Combat Psyker all felt suffocated; their psychic powers were severely suppressed.
And the Warp engine's power continuously increased, yet it struggled to draw enough Warp energy for faster-than-light travel.
People also fell into negative states such as fatigue, self-doubt, and weakness, as mentioned in the mission report.
But the blessings and prayers of the God Chosen could alleviate these symptoms, which made Drax very glad to have them along.
When the investigation fleet delved into the silent domain, the Geller Field that should have protected them collapsed directly.
When Drax thought they would face a battle between humans and demons, he found that no demons attacked them.
Under various bizarre and unusual circumstances, the investigation fleet persisted in its journey and finally reached the world of Rydas.
They also saw the Eternal Fire floating in orbit around the planet.
"Board it and look for clues."
Dragus was decisive and immediately ordered to approach the Eternal Fire, wanting to find clues to the various strange occurrences.
"Let's go, we'll follow the mission procedure."
Little Alpaca called her companions, joining the High Inquisitor in boarding the ship.
