Walking to the exit of the dorm, Akira came to a stop as he saw Gojo waiting for him at the entrance, his hands in his pockets, and a mischievous grin on his face.
'Oh no, did he see all that?'
Akira felt a sliver of embarrassment slide into his brain as he looked at Gojo with a face that screamed embarrassment. Gojo's grin raised further at the sight.
"Well, hello! Playboy, not even a month here, and already charmed our local female overlord? How exciting!" Gojo clapped his hands in excitement, and Akira sighed as he closed the dorm entrance door behind him.
"Are you the one taking us to the mission's location? If so, can we have another guy take us?" Akira started walking while complaining, causing Gojo to act depressed.
"Not exactly, you see, every student who joins the school actually has to pass a test first, and you didn't do it. So right now, we are going to the test sight," Gojo quickly followed behind Akira, before walking towards another way, Akira following behind him.
"But I already got the card?" Akira asked, confused.
"Yeah, but the old man is asking to see you himself. And I am getting tired of his nagging," Gojo replies with a nonchalant smile. Akira's lips twitched before looking away, his eyes focused on something else.
Following behind Gojo, Akira subconsciously reached up to his shoulder, a phantom pain shooting through him as he thought back to his training last night.
"So, what's with this barrier of yours? Is it really that busted? Or can anyone get through it somehow?" Akira asked with a raised eyebrow, probing for any tricks that could help him in defeating that training Image form last night.
Akira knew he would never be able to beat this man in front of him if he didn't get a way to get through his barrier. He cannot even hit the guy, for god's sake!
"Oh, his? Well, it's nothing much. This barrier is the neutral form of my cursed technique, Limitless." Gojo looked to Akira, placing a palm in front of him, and motioning him to try to touch it.
Akira narrowed his eyes as he pressed his palm against Gojo's, only for his hand to halt an inch from his. He could still feel that he was moving, but for some reason, the closer he is, the farther he seems to be.
'Is this distance manipulation? Can he manipulate distances between objects or people?' Akira held back from gasping at his thoughts. If that were true, it would be almost unstoppable.
Apart from the shock, Akira felt an even bigger hit of envy at Gojo's cursed technique.
Sure, Akira knows that his body is extremely strong, and he has talents that most would kill for, but to Akira, this is simply his body, and not some supernatural power.
Every child, boy or man, girl or woman, would want powers, and Akira is not an exception to that.
"You can manipulate distances between things?" Akira sked, snapping out form hsi thoughts.
"Well, not exactly, but a good guess. Limitless, it allows me to bring the concept of Infinity to reality, giving me the ability to manipulate space on an atomic scale."
Gojo places his hand back in his pocket as he explains without a care in the world. Every sorcerer knows about Gojo's cursed technique by now, not the specifics like purple or red, but everyone knows about blue and Infinity.
Akira, on the other hand, turned even more silent at Gojo's explanation. From Gojo's words, he already figured out the Neutral form of Limitless, and it halves the space between him and Gojo an infinite number of times.
"And no, the only way to go through my barrier is if you know Domain Expansion, or anything smaller than an atomic level, like light" Gojo finishes with a grin before coming to a stop in front of a Japanese building that resembles a Dojo.
"Great..." Akira sighed in defeat as he looked at the building, sensing the presence of Principal Yaga, along with a bunch of other essences, but smaller and much weaker comparatively.
"Who's inside the building? He is kind of strong," Akira asked Gojo while comparing the presence to his opponents. It's much weaker than Hakari and Gojo, but probably the fourth strongest human he has ever sensed.
"That's my teacher, his name is Yaga, but you can just call him an old man-"
"Satoru! What are you teaching your youngsters these days? Bring him inside right now before you poison his mind even more!"
"..."
"He seems active for an old guy..." Akira muttered, causing Gojo to chuckle before the two stepped into the building.
Akira looked around, noticing the dimness of the inside, with barely any candles lit up, spreading a bit of light around. He also noticed some dolls placed around the indie.
'Weird... Those dolls definitely have presences, so they are either alive, or are Cursed Spirits... Or is it an extension of his technique?' Narrowing his eyes, Akira looked at Yaga curiously.
The ability to create life? Now that's something he didn't expect, even with Gojo levels of bullshit.
"Akira Shokotsu, a non-sorcerer with power on par with a Special Grade. Had a fight with a former student of ours, killing many people in the process..." Yaga spoke up, his gaze still locked on the doll in his hand and the needle.
Akira shrugged at Yaga's words, not bothered. It's not as if he sees no value in life, but it already happened, so he can't do anything about it; he can't bring people back to life.
The most rational thing is to let go and move on. No point in feeling guilty or blaming himself for the deaths of those people.
"Answer his question, Akira. Why did you become a Jujustus Sorcerer?" Yaga paused from sewing, looking up at Akira and asking, his gaze intense, locked wiht Akira's.
Akira scratched his head in confusion, giving Gojo a side eye at Yaga's question.
"Is he pulling my leg right now?" Akira asked Gojo, who responded with a shrug, indicating he didn't know either. Akira ignored it; he definitely knew but didn't want to say anything.
"Well, to answer your question, it's because I don't want to become a terrorist who attacked Japan, or killed by those supposed Higher-ups," Akira replied truthfully, not bothering to put a grand reason, like wanting to save people or atone for his sins or anything.
That would be pretentious.
"Is that right... What would you do in this situation?"
"You have the choice of exercising a group of cursed spirits, but a human would be killed in the process, or let them run away, saving the human. But those same curses will now kill other humans since you let them go,"
"What would you do in this situation?"
