Chapter 230 - Chapter 229: Lynn's Fear

As class time drew near, more and more Young Wizards walked into the classroom. The third-year The Ravenclaws skillfully sat around Lynn, and Hermione was also surrounded by them in the middle.

After Harry and Ron walked into the classroom, they just glanced at Hermione's side and went to sit nearby. It was better for the two of them not to disturb Lynn and Hermione.

It wasn't until class officially started that Professor Lupin smiled and clapped his hands after confirming everyone was present.

"Alright, everyone, put your textbooks away. You won't need books for today's lesson."

The Young Wizards present looked at each other and silently put away the books they had placed on their desks.

Professor Lupin smiled and gestured for everyone to stand up, then waved his wand to move the desks and chairs against the wall where they wouldn't be in the way.

"Alright, Miss Lynn, Miss Granger, now you can tell us about what is in this wardrobe."

Lynn turned to look at Hermione and nodded to signal for her to speak first; being courteous was also one of the rules of etiquette.

Hermione stood up, "Um, what's in the wardrobe is a Boggart. It has no form of its own, but after encountering a person, it will turn into the thing that person fears the most."

"Very correct."

Professor Lupin nodded in approval, "Five points to Gryffindor."

"Then how should we deal with it?"

"Miss Lynn." Professor Lupin signaled for Lynn, who was raising her hand, to stand up and answer.

"Riddikulus is the spell to deal with a Boggart. Combined with our imagination, it can turn the thing that the Boggart creates, which makes us feel afraid, into something that makes us feel ridiculous."

"Laughter is currently the only proven way to eliminate a Boggart."

"Very good!" Professor Lupin didn't spare his applause for Lynn, "Five points to Ravenclaw."

"Additionally, I would like to add one point. There are many of us here today, so we actually have a natural advantage, because this might cause the Boggart to be confused, making it not know what to turn into."

After finishing the final addition, Professor Lupin raised the wand in his hand, "Now everyone, take out your wands and follow me to do it once, Riddikulus."

He waved his wand as he spoke, the wand tracing several specific angles in the air.

"Riddikulus."

"Very good, once more, Riddikulus."

"Riddikulus."

Professor Lupin nodded with satisfaction, lowered his wand, and stepped aside, "Everyone, line up, one by one."

Hearing his request, Lynn also lowered her wand and stood in the queue one after the other with Hermione.

The wand-waving movement and the incantation taught by Professor Lupin had long been memorized by heart.

Even her wand movements and the pronunciation of the incantation were even more standard than Professor Lupin's, just as if they had been copied from a book.

The only thing she couldn't figure out was what the Boggart would turn into.

A Boggart turns into a person's greatest fear, but she didn't have any emotions like fear.

She couldn't feel fear, Lynn blinked, deducing for several seconds without coming to any conclusion.

Because she really didn't have the emotion of fear, or rather, she believed she didn't.

And in these few seconds, Professor Lupin had already pulled Neville, who was first in line, to the front of the wardrobe.

"Alright, Neville, what are you most afraid of?"

"Pro, Professor Snape..." Neville said in a small, trembling voice.

"Oh, understandable," Professor Lupin nodded gently, "Then... I remember you were raised by your grandmother, right, Neville?"

"Yes." Neville nodded, somewhat puzzled; it was clear he didn't quite understand why Professor Lupin mentioned this.

"When the Boggart comes out, you can imagine Professor Snape wearing your grandmother's clothes. Do you understand what I mean?"

Neville's eyes widened in astonishment; he suspected he had misheard.

However, it was clear he hadn't misheard, because Professor Lupin gently repeated it to him again without any impatience, even asking if he understood this time.

"Understood." Neville swallowed and nodded.

"Good, then, let's begin."

Professor Lupin stepped back two more steps to the side, and with a wave of his wand, the wardrobe door was opened instantly.

An invisible entity floated out, and after a visible slight distortion, Professor Snape appeared in front of Neville.
