---

The skies above Wano Country were dark.

Heavy clouds rolled over Onigashima while thunder echoed across the island like the growl of some ancient beast awakening.

And at the center of it all—

Laughter boomed.

"WORORORORORO!"

The massive figure of Kaido sat atop the skull dome with a giant sake gourd in hand, already half drunk despite the early hour.

Around him, Beast Pirates rushed back and forth preparing ships, weapons, ammunition, and supplies.

The atmosphere was savage.

Violent.

Excited.

Because war was coming.

A REAL war.

Not some small pirate skirmish.

Not a kingdom takeover.

Marineford.

Whitebeard.

The Marines.

Legends colliding.

And Kaido looked happier than he had in years.

"Finally…"

He grinned wildly, sharp teeth showing.

"Something interesting."

BOOM!

A burst of Conqueror's Haki leaked from him instinctively, knocking weaker Beast Pirates unconscious instantly.

Others trembled but still cheered.

"KAIDO-SAMA!"

"THE STRONGEST!"

"WE'RE GOING TO WAR!"

Nearby, King stood silently with his arms crossed, black wings folded behind him.

As always, King spoke little.

But even he seemed slightly more alert than usual.

"This scale of conflict…"

His masked gaze shifted toward Kaido.

"…will reshape the seas."

Beside him, Queen danced horribly across the deck while laughing.

"FUNKY~!"

"Marineford's about to become my laboratory!"

Queen adjusted his glasses dramatically.

"I've got soooo many new plague rounds I wanna test!"

He pointed outward excitedly.

"Imagine the screams! The panic! The suffering!"

Several nearby Beast Pirates laughed nervously.

One muttered quietly—

"Queen-sama is terrifying…"

Jack, meanwhile, stood nearby in complete silence.

Jack simply tightened the straps on his massive blades.

Unlike Queen, he wasn't excited.

Unlike Kaido, he wasn't smiling.

He just wanted destruction.

And there would be plenty of it.

Further back, Who's-Who leaned against a crate, expression dark.

One of his men laughed.

"Marineford's gonna be chaos!"

Another grinned.

"You think we'll get to kill Admirals?"

Who's-Who didn't respond immediately.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"…World Government bastards."

The men around him quieted.

Who's-Who's expression twisted with bitterness.

"They threw me away over one mistake."

His claws dug slightly into the wood beside him.

"…No."

His eyes darkened further.

"Not even a mistake."

A pause.

"The Red-Haired Pirates stole it."

Several nearby pirates blinked.

"The Gum-Gum Fruit?"

Who's-Who scoffed.

"Yeah."

His gaze hardened.

"And the Government blamed me for losing it."

He spat to the side.

"After years of service."

Queen laughed loudly from nearby.

"FUFUFUFU~! Sounds like you're still bitter!"

Who's-Who glared at him.

"I am."

King finally spoke.

"…Then take your revenge at Marineford."

Who's-Who smirked slightly.

"Oh, I plan to."

High above them—

Kaido stood now.

Massive kanabo resting over his shoulder.

The wind howled around him.

His grin widened further.

"Whitebeard…"

Thunder cracked behind him.

"I wonder if this will finally kill one of us."

The Beast Pirates roared loudly at those words.

Because they understood.

Their captain wasn't going there for power.

Or territory.

Or politics.

Kaido wanted war.

True war.

The kind that legends died in.

The kind history remembered forever.

He lifted his kanabo slightly.

"Move out!"

The roar that answered him shook Onigashima itself.

"OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!"

Ships began moving immediately.

Chains rattled.

Cannons loaded.

Sails unfurled.

The Beast Pirates were departing.

Toward Marineford.

Toward the greatest war of the era.

And somewhere deep within the storm clouds above Wano—

Lightning flashed.

Like the world itself understood.

The balance of power was about to collapse.

---

Marineford was louder than ever.

Cannons were being moved.

Warships lined the docks endlessly.

Thousands of Marines marched across the fortress while officers shouted orders without pause.

The entire headquarters had become a machine preparing for war.

And walking through all of it—

Was Tenjin.

His Marine coat fluttered behind him as countless Marines turned toward him in surprise.

"Captain Tenjin?"

"He's back?"

"I heard Big Mom captured him!"

"No way…"

Some looked relieved.

Others shocked.

A few even inspired.

After all, stories about what happened in Totto Land had already begun spreading through the ranks.

A Marine Captain.

Invading Emperor territory.

Surviving.

And returning alive.

Tenjin ignored all the stares.

His expression remained irritated the entire walk.

Mostly because he already knew what was waiting for him.

"…This is gonna be annoying."

A few moments later—

BANG.

The office doors opened.

Fleet Admiral Sengoku immediately looked up from his paperwork.

Beside him sat Tsuru calmly sipping tea.

The instant they saw Tenjin—

Both froze briefly.

Then Sengoku's veins bulged instantly.

"TENJIN!"

The roar shook the office.

"You absolute menace!"

Tenjin grimaced.

"Ah. There it is."

Sengoku slammed both hands onto the desk.

"Do you have ANY idea what kind of disaster you caused?!"

"You ignored direct orders!"

"You disappeared to Mariejois!"

"And somehow you ended up dragging the HOLY KNIGHTS into everything!"

Each sentence became louder than the last.

Tsuru rubbed her forehead slightly.

Even she looked exhausted.

Tenjin scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"…When you say it all together it sounds kinda bad."

"KINDA BAD?!"

Sengoku nearly flipped his desk.

Tsuru sighed softly.

"You nearly started three separate international incidents in under a month."

Tenjin looked genuinely thoughtful for a second.

"…Oh."

Sengoku pointed at him furiously.

"OH?! THAT'S YOUR RESPONSE?!"

Despite the yelling though—

Both Tsuru and Sengoku visibly relaxed seeing him standing there alive.

Tsuru especially noticed it.

The injuries.

The exhaustion hidden beneath his usual attitude.

He had clearly gone through hell.

And yet—

He came back.

Sengoku finally sat back down heavily.

"…Idiot."

Tenjin grinned slightly.

"Good to see you too, old man."

"Don't call me old man."

Tsuru took a sip of tea before speaking calmly.

"So."

Her sharp eyes locked onto him.

"What happened in the Holy Land?"

Tenjin's expression soured immediately.

"…Nothing good."

Sengoku narrowed his eyes.

Tenjin crossed his arms.

"Some Celestial Dragon named Figarland Garling claimed to be my father."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Tsuru's teacup stopped midway.

Sengoku froze completely.

"…What?"

Tenjin shrugged irritably.

"I said it's obviously bullshit."

"He started talking nonsense about my mother running away from Mariejois and stuff."

Tenjin clicked his tongue.

"I don't know why some Celestial Dragon monster would suddenly claim me as his son."

Neither Sengoku nor Tsuru spoke.

Because both of them were genuinely stunned.

Figarland Garling.

Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights.

The man known as—

The Champion of God Valley.

Tsuru muttered unconsciously—

"…Garling…"

Sengoku's face darkened heavily.

"That monster…"

Tenjin blinked.

"…Monster?"

Sengoku immediately realized his mistake.

But Tsuru had already spoken quietly.

"The Champion of God Valley…"

Tenjin frowned.

"…God Valley?"

The room instantly became tense.

Tenjin looked between them.

"What's that?"

Sengoku answered immediately.

"Nothing."

Too fast.

Too sharp.

Tenjin narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

Tsuru calmly set her teacup down.

"An old incident."

Her tone remained neutral.

"Not something you need to concern yourself with right now."

Tenjin clearly noticed they were hiding something.

But after everything that had happened recently—

He honestly didn't care enough to push it further.

"Tch."

He shrugged.

"Whatever."

Sengoku stared at him carefully now.

"…How much did Garling tell you?"

Tenjin's expression darkened slightly.

"Enough to piss me off."

He looked away briefly.

"He said Makima isn't my real mother."

Tsuru's eyes softened slightly.

But Sengoku stayed serious.

"And?"

Tenjin snorted.

"I told him to piss off."

That answer actually made Sengoku smile slightly.

Very slightly.

"…Good."

Tenjin looked confused.

"Huh?"

"Nothing."

Sengoku folded his arms.

Then his Fleet Admiral expression returned fully.

"In any case…"

His voice became firm again.

"The war begins soon."

The atmosphere shifted instantly.

Even Tenjin's eyes sharpened.

Whitebeard.

Marineford.

Ace.

Everything was approaching.

Sengoku pointed toward the door.

"Go regroup with the other elite trainees."

"Prepare yourself."

His gaze hardened.

"Because once this war starts…"

"…the world will never be the same again."

Tenjin stayed silent for a moment.

Then—

"…Alright."

He turned and walked toward the exit.

But before leaving—

He paused slightly.

"…Old man."

Sengoku frowned.

"What?"

Tenjin glanced back slightly.

"…Thanks."

Then he left.

BANG.

The doors closed.

Silence filled the office.

For several long seconds—

Neither Sengoku nor Tsuru spoke.

Then Tsuru finally exhaled slowly.

"…Figarland Garling's son."

Sengoku leaned back heavily in his chair.

His expression was grim.

"Of all people…"

Tsuru's eyes narrowed slightly.

"The World Government won't ignore this forever."

"No."

Sengoku rubbed his forehead.

"They absolutely won't."

Tsuru spoke quietly.

"And if Garling truly wants Tenjin back…"

Even Sengoku looked troubled now.

"…Then things are going to become very dangerous."

The Fleet Admiral stared toward the closed office doors.

Toward the young Marine who had no idea what kind of blood flowed through his veins.

Then Sengoku muttered quietly to himself—

"…Garp's going to lose his mind when he hears this."
